Formerly known as the Global Dream, this ship was purchased by DCL in late 2022 when its original owner, Genting Hong Kong filed for bankruptcy. Our friend Scott Sanders of the DCL Blog has a good rundown of that situation.

The Adventure will be based in Asia, sailing primarily three and four night itineraries from Singapore. Her maiden voyage is expected in 2025. This ship is significantly larger than the other Disney Cruise Line vessels, with a capacity of about 6,700 guests. As a point of comparison, the Disney Dream, Fantasy, and Wish all have a guest capacity of about 4,000 guests.

Overview of the Disney Adventure

According to Disney PR, you can expect to find seven themed areas on the Adventure:

  • In the Disney Imagination Garden, journey through an enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories – from Mowgli exploring the jungle to Moana taming the high seas. This imaginative gathering space will also be home to dazzling performances on an open-air stage.
  • At Disney Discovery Reef, travel down to the ocean floor to explore the nautical worlds of “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca” complete with uniquely themed shopping and dining options.
  • Inspired by the expansive world of “Big Hero 6,” San Fransokyo Street will be a bustling family entertainment area featuring interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more.
  • At Wayfinder Bay, be called by “the line where the sky meets the sea” to a poolside retreat reflecting the Pacific Islands-inspired artistry of “Moana” with some of the most stunning views aboard the Disney Adventure.
  • Venture into the enchanted Town Square — a fantastical forest filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues inspired by the magical kingdoms from “Tangled,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more.
  • Heroes will unite at Marvel Landing where Avengers-level adventure featuring thrilling attractions and all-new experience await.
  • At Toy Story Place, little ones will pal around with friends from Andy’s Room in a whimsical and interactive water play zone along with different themed food venues.

Disney’s initial announcements also mention comfortable staterooms designed with families in mind, as well as concierge accommodations for those who want to splurge. This ship will also feature spa and fitness facilities and luxury shopping opportunities. We’ll continue to update below as new information is revealed!

Imagination Garden

On August 20, 2024, Disney released details about the Imagination Garden area of the ship. The open-air interior space will be a central hub of the ship, featuring a theatrical stage, two quick-service dining locations, and a bar. Overlooking Garden View staterooms will feature a verandah with views of the Garden.

Decorative foliage of flowers, topiaries, trees, and cascading vines will bring the greenery and trellises to this garden area, where guests will also be able to find a mix of popular characters and easter eggs from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories. The Garden Stage takes center stage (see what we did there?) at one end of the space, with a large open “lawn” area and a large staircase creating amphitheater-style seating for performances.

At the other end of the garden, the stairs lead up to a courtyard with seating under the trees and a view of Disney’s first ever “Castle at Sea”. The artwork is inspired by castles from Disney stories and its existing theme parks across the globe, including the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Disneyland Paris’ Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and sketches from legendary Disney artists. At the feet of the three-story artwork, guests will find a decorative waterfall surrounded by a wave motif.

Imagination Garden Dining

Guests can dine indoor or out alongside the Imagination Garden at their choice of two Quick-Service eateries. Both patios will offer a view of the Garden Stage to take in the day’s entertainment lineup.

Mowgli’s Eatery will be inspired by  Mowgli’s journey in “The Jungle Book”. Guests can enjoy Indian cuisine, with vegetarian and regional dishes that will be given a special Disney twist. Those choosing to dine at Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will be treated to the scenery and island vibes of “Moana”, as they make selections from a menu that highlights flavors found throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Imagination Garden Entertainment

New signature shows will be coming to the Garden Stage, including Avengers Assemble! This show offers guests a first-hand look at the powers of Marvel greats such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Red Skull, Taskmaster and more. And, it will feature everyone’s favorite merc-with-a-mouth Deadpool in his Disney Cruise Line debut! Good vs. evil is on the line and Disney wants you to be on the edge of your seat with the Garden Stage’s three-deck-high LED screens, special effects, and cutting-edge theatrical features.
