Shopping in the Epcot Countries – Get to Know Canada

Epcot’s World Showcase countries are a magical entree into the world at large. Even if you can’t get to China or France or Morocco, you can gain some insight into the culture of those places through the attractions, architecture, and food represented in the Epcot pavilions. But let’s face it, one of the key enticements of the World Showcase pavilions is the shopping. Even if you’ll never get to London, you can get souvenirs from the United Kingdom without ever leaving Florida.

We’re going on a tour of the shopping opportunities in Epcot’s World Showcase countries — this time we’re visiting Canada. Bear in mind that the merchandise mix in the parks is constantly changing. While all the photos in these posts were taken in the first half of 2019, it’s quite possible that some of these specific items will be gone by the time you visit. They will, however, give you the flavor of what you can expect to find as you shop around the World Showcase.

Maple

In my World Showcase shopping survey, I’ve given most countries a category called “Food” that covers a variety of items sold there. Maybe candy, maybe tea, maybe packaged savory goods, but a range of items. In Canada, there’s a range of items, but they’re all maple flavored. Maple cookies, maple popcorn, maple syrup, maple cookies, maple sugar, maple, maple, maple. I’m exaggerating, but only a little. There’s also Coffee Crisp.

T-Shirts and Hoodies

The clothing options in the Canada pavilion have a decidedly casual vibe. Most of the wearable options are tees and hoodies decorated with variations on maple leafs or hockey puns.

Cozy Things

In addition to the Norway pavilion, Canada is the place to go if you’re at Epcot and are getting cold. (Hey, it does sometimes happen in January!) You’ll find flannel PJs, slippers, and cuddly plush of the non-Disney variety that are perfect for curling up by the fire with.

Disney Character Tie-Ins

For unknown reasons, Chip & Dale seem to be the unofficial mascots of the Canada pavilion. There’s not a lot of Disney-themed merchandise in the pavilion, but almost all that there is features a stylized map of Canada framed by woodsy hiker Chip and hockey player Dale. It’s a little out there, but also oddly charming.
