Universal Orlando Annual Passholders receive amazing perks like discounts on dining and merchandise, exclusive UOAP lounge, special events, and more. But the biggest perk UOAP perk are the hotel discounts. In this article we’ll cover what discounts you can find on Universal hotel rooms, how to book them, and our favorite resource for researching UOAP hotel rates.

What is UOAP?

The Universal Orlando Annual Pass is an admission ticket good for the Universal Orlando theme parks for one full year. Passes are available in four tiers:

• Seasonal Pass – Valid for one year with the most restrictive blockout dates (such as holidays, concerts, and some special event dates)
• Power Pass – The Seasonal Pass plus includes a 50% discount on parking and fewer blockout dates
• Preferred Pass – Valid for every day of the year plus free parking, discounts on food and merchandise, and Early Park Admission on select dates.
• Premier Pass – Creme de la creme of UOAPs, includes all the benefits of the Preferred Pass plus a free Halloween Horror Nights ticket and After 4:00 PM Express Pass.

Two-park UOAPs cover the two main theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and the three-park UOAP adds on Volcano Bay access. Passes are available online and at Universal ticket stands.

UOAP Hotel Discounts

All UOAPs include the 40% off hotel rate. Reservation spots are limited and fill quickly, especially during the holidays and Halloween Horror Nights. UOAP discounts are released in blocks for all hotels up to six months before the reservation date. While discounts are limited they are sometimes not the only option – a multi-night stay with the Stay More Save More promotion could have a lower nightly rate than the UOAP discount. tl;dr Shop around.

If you book a UOAP rate room expect to show your UOAP or receipt when you arrive for verification.

How to Book

Booking a UOAP hotel discounts is easy and done through Universal’s existing booking site or through the phone. To book online either click on the Passholders drop down on the main page and select Hotels & Packages to access the hotels page. On the Hotels and Packages page then click on the Check Rates button to access UOAP rates.

Our Favorite Way To Find Rates

Universal’s site is not designed for hunting for the best deals, so we have been on the look out for an easier way to find discounts. UOAP Rates is a new website that aggregates hotel rate information from Loews site and displays them in an easy to read to read fashion.

Select the Calendar text in the top navigation bar for a calendar view of  rates with the hotels on the X-Axis and check-in day on the Y-Axis. The Hotels view from the navigation bar breaks down rates by hotel in a list view – at the time of writing there isn’t a way to sort by dates, price, or other information. The web developers say new features are coming and we believe them as we’ve seen the website change twice already with new views.

UOAP Rates is a great, quick tool to find UOAP hotel rates. For the devs, we hope the calendar picker tool returns in the future. Keep up the good work!
