Official Name for Star Wars Land
Star Wars Land has been announced previously for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, but we didn’t know what these lands would actually be called. That is until today.
Both Star Wars lands will officially be called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a remote trading post found on the edge of wild space.
These new lands will feature two major attractions that will put guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Both the attractions, as well as the land itself, will offer guests the chance to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe like never before. The story will truly come alive for guests who visit.
One attraction will make you feel like you’re on a Star Destroyer inside a hangar bay. It will be built on a scale that hasn’t been done before.
For the other attraction, you can try your hand at manning the Millennium Falcon. You will be able to pilot the ship, shoot blasters, or prepare for hyperspace while attempting to complete a critical mission. But this is not just any ride. How you perform on the mission holds big stakes. If you perform your tasks skillfully, you may earn extra galactic credits. However, if you bring the ship back banged up, you could end up on a bounty hunter’s list.
Characters will be key here. Guests may encounter many familiar faces inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge like BB-8, Chewbacca, or members of the First Order. As an added surprise, Rex, the former pilot from the original Star Tours attraction, is back as the cantina DJ.
And speaking of the cantina, guests will be able to try drinks like blue milk or purchase trinkets and treasures from across the galaxy here.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in 2019, first at the Disneyland Resort and then later in the year at Walt Disney World. The exact opening dates have not been announced yet, so stay tuned!
I probably will still call this Star Wars Land anyways. It seems wonderful and I am very excited to visit here.
