As we all know, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is undergoing a massive refurbishment. Today, Disney shared some great new details about what we can expect to experience when the resort’s enhancements debut in the summer of 2018.

First, Old Port Royale will be reimagined as the port of entry where guests will check in. This centralized location will offer resort guests more convenient access to services, amenities and dining. This includes the all-new quick service location known as Centertown Market, an all-new Shutters restaurant that will include waterfront dining and will be adjacent to the new Banana Cabana outdoor bar and lounge. For Guests looking to do some shopping, look no further than Calypso Trading Post which will offer shoppers Disney merchandise and other vacation essentials.

Centertown Market will be expanded and enclosed and will feature an indoor street market vibe. Guests will enter the space under a large palapa-like structure, accented with glowing colored light pendants made from glass bottles. The market will feature open shutters, wooden light posts, awnings, ornamentation and unique seating areas. Here, Guests will also be able to pick up something from the Grab n’ Go market for a quick bite.

Moving on to the table service dining location, Shutters. The restaurant will be a Caribbean-inspired restaurant and it will transport guests to a beachfront home in the tropical islands. Shutters will feature large open shutters that will allow the sun to cast a warm light into the space adorned with handmade items that appear as they’ve been found on the islands. Shutters will celebrate the natural beauty of the Caribbean.

There will also be a festive poolside bar called Banana Cabana, which will feature cabana-style drapes that will flank seating areas and re-purposed steel drums will illuminate a central communal table made from a wooden boat.

Looks like things are getting exciting for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
