Disney Cruise Line: In The News
Earlier this week, crew from the Disney Magic spent the day in Miami participating in the “Books on Bases” program. Along with the Blue Star Families organization, some of the wonderful crew members spent the day with 300 military families, reading and helping the children select books to take home with them. And of course, the little ones got to go home with a plush Mickey too! The Disney Cruise Line crew is no stranger to helping out around the world. Just another reason Mickey’s crew is the best crew!
There are just a few days left to take advantage of the 50% off required deposit offer on select 7-night or longer sailings! If you are thinking about cruising between June 23, 2018 and May 31, 2019, you can book your cruise and pay only half of the regular deposit. The remaining deposit will be due with the balance payment. There are so many amazing itineraries to choose from….from Alaska to the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, the hardest part is choosing which one! This offer is only available until February 15.
And finally, this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Beauty and the Beast
- Born In China
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
- Cars 3
- Doctor Strange
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Black Panther – will premier on all four ships on February 16
For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
Ahhhh….Valentine’s Day! What better place to spend it than on a Disney Cruise? What’s that you say? How is that possible on a ship full of kids?? Friends, it’s totally possible and totally fun! Even when you are traveling as a family, there are plenty of ways for the grown-ups to enjoy some romantic time together. (That’s what the kids’ clubs are for, after all.) If you like good eats, a nice dinner at Palo (on all ships) or Remy (only on the Dream and Fantasy) can’t be beat – delicious, kid-free dining! You’ll want to snag a reservation when your booking window opens to guarantee a spot. If you are looking for a little pampering, a couples’ spa treatment is just the thing. Surprise your sweetheart with a massage in one of the Spa Villas – your treatment includes time to enjoy the private verandah and whirlpool. You are guaranteed to score major points, trust me. Lucky enough to be spending the 14th at Castaway Cay? (That’s you this year, lucky Dream cruisers!). Let the kids have some fun at Scuttle’s Cove, and enjoy a long peaceful walk on the beach at Serenity Bay. Round out the day enjoying a cocktail at any of the awesome lounges in the adult-only areas. My personal favorite – Ooh La La on the Fantasy, the pink tones in the decor are made for Valentines! And if that’s not enough, Tammy has some other suggestions on how to have a romantic day onboard.
Are you deciding whether to book a Disney Cruise but are having a tough time picking which ship fits all of your desires? Well, our own Laurel Stewart has put together a chart that makes it easy to compare all of the options in one place. Also available as a valuable planning and companion guide from authors Len Testa, Erin Foster, and Laurel Stewart is The Unofficial Guide to the Disney Cruise Line. The companion guide contains a complete overview of each Disney ship as well as Castaway Cay and includes valuable tips on how to save time and money during your cruise!
