Ports of Call
Disney Cruise Line: In The News
What’s behind the curtain of the Vista Gallery and Vacation Planning Center on the Disney Dream? Well, according to the word on the sea, it looks like the Dream is going to be getting a Tiffany & Co boutique, just like her sister, the Fantasy.
Now that the Fall 2020 bookings are open, if you have a placeholder that you’ve booked on a previous cruise and are thinking of using it for this new batch of itineraries, it’s important to keep in mind that there are certain dates that are blocked from this discount. Read more here for a full list of dates (subject to change at any time).
Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Ralph Breaks the Internet
- Mary Poppins Returns
- Captain Marvel
- Disneynature: Penguins
- Avengers: Endgame
- Toy Story 4 – PremEAR June 20
For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
The Wonder will get a bit of well-deserved pampering in dry dock at the end of her Alaskan cruise season. Yesterday, we got some details about what’s to come!
The teen-only space, Vibe, will get a well-deserved update. The space will be refreshed and modernized. There’s sure to be sounds of rejoicing with the addition of a coffee bar to this space as well. It will be interesting to see how similar this redo is to the one Vibe on the Magic received in 2018.
Adult coffee fanatics will also have their own moment of rejoicing, as Cove Cafe is set to get an update as well, with a “local coffee shop” flair (Central Perk anyone??). And to continue with the celebratory cheers, Signals will also get a facelift. I know I’m hoping it sees an updated menu like the Magic now has!
And saving perhaps the best for last…this dry dock will unveil the brand new French Quarter Lounge! Guests will be transported to a fully themed outdoor New Orleans lounge, complete with a trolley car! With drinks, music, and Disney friends you can really laissez les bon temps rouler! While it wasn’t explicitly said where this space will be, logic seems to dictate that it will take over the current Promenade Lounge, which is just outside of Tiana’s Place restaurant.
These updates will debut on the September 30, 2019 sailing.
Are you booked on that cruise? What are you most looking forward to during this refurbishment?
