Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Ports of Call

Disney Cruise Line: In The News

The 11-night Disney Fantasy cruise departing tomorrow will have an altered itinerary. Instead of visiting San Juan, the ship will now call on St. Thomas. The change was made in light of the recent political unrest. This is the only itinerary that has been altered at this time.

Can’t get enough of Captain Minnie? Now you can bring her home with you – check out the two new plush dolls being sold onboard!

Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel.  There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book.  These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:

Upcoming Entertainment

The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:

  • Captain Marvel
  • Dumbo
  • Disneynature: Penguins
  • Avengers: Endgame
  • Aladdin
  • Toy Story 4
  • Lion King

For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

This week we finally got a look at the runDisney Castaway Cay Challenge medal. Not too surprising to see the 2020 medal features none other than the star of the hour, Captain Minnie!

The Castaway Cay Challenge will take place on the January 13, 2020 4-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Dream. While the run is the same as the standard Castaway 5K, it comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from an official runDisney event. That also means, of course, it comes with the official registration and price tag.

If you are participating in the Walt Disney World 2020 Marathon weekend, and are thinking of adding on the Castaway Cay Challenge, it’s definitely not too late! Registration for the CCC is still available. But, it’s important to note that you will have to have booked your stateroom on the cruise PRIOR to registering with runDisney. There are still great staterooms left! So get online or in touch with your favorite travel agent before the Challenge fills up – spots are limited!

Are you registered for the CCC in 2020? Considering it? Tell me in the comments!
