Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Ports of Call

Disney Cruise Line: In The News

Since the update to the Gifts and Amenities portion of the DCL website, things keep getting better. Now, you can finally add onboard credit online instead of having to call it in! It’s a great way to prepay your anticipated onboard bill, or give a gift to another cruiser!

The Disney Magic has settled in to her winter home port of Miami. Disney Parks Blog shares five reasons you should consider sailing from here. Itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean? And Marvel Day at Sea? What’s not to like!

Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel.  There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book.  These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:

Upcoming Entertainment

The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:

  • Captain Marvel
  • Dumbo
  • Disneynature: Penguins
  • Avengers: Endgame
  • Aladdin
  • Toy Story 4
  • Lion King
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
  • Frozen 2

For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

It’s Black Friday and that means two things – eating lots of leftovers and shopping sales! Now DCL isn’t going to be offering doorbuster deals, so don’t go holding your breath. But, they are offering up “cyber week” discounts right now of up to 25% off prevailing rates on select sailings this winter/spring. Here’s the current list of offerings:

  • February 14, 2020; 7-night Western Caribbean on the Disney Wonder from Galveston. Rooms available are OGT – Oceanview with Restrictions
  • February 22, 2020; 7-night Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Fantasy with Star Wars Day at Sea from Port Canaveral. Rooms available are VGT – Verandah with Restrictions
  • February 29, 2020; 7-night Western Caribbean on the Disney Fantasy with Star Wars Day at Sea from Port Canaveral. Rooms available are VGT – Verandah with Restrictions
  • February 29, 2020; 5-night Western Caribbean on the Disney Magic with Marvel Day at Sea from Miami. Rooms available are IGT – Inside with Restrictions
  • March 7, 2020; 7-night Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral. Rooms available are VGT – Verandah with Restrictions
  • March 9, 2020; 4-night Bahamian on the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral. Rooms available are VGT – Verandah with Restrictions
  • April 2, 2020; 4-night Bahamian on the Disney Magic from Miami. Rooms available are IGT – Inside with Restrictions
  • April 24, 2020; 5-night Pacific Coast on the Disney Wonder from San Diego ending in Vancouver. Rooms available are IGT – Inside with Restrictions

It’s important to remember the rules that come along with these restricted rates: they are only valid for new bookings, must be paid in full at the time of booking, no changes are allowed, and the fare is non-refundable. If you are good with all that, there are some great deals and you could REALLY make someone’s day this holiday with the gift of a cruise!
