What I Love! …It All Started With a Mouse

Today’s post will strike a chord with anyone who has introduced someone to Disney magic – especially someone that was previously not a fan or even those folks determined to be immune to the joy the rest of us feel. Eva (Liner name evamarie320) writes:
Although we are Walt Disney World regulars and huge fans of all things Disney, we had never done a character meal or even a character meet and greet until the trip I’m going to tell you about. When my husband and I traveled to Disney World as two young marrieds in the early 90s, we were too busy going on rides and staying out from rope drop to the close of Pleasure Island late at night. When our son was little, he liked to admire the princesses from afar but was frightened of the other characters so we kept our distance.
A face everyone can love?
Furry, friendly, and fantastic!
Finally, during our trip in the summer of 2015, we decided to do the Disney Visa meet and greet at EPCOT. It was raining and we really only wanted to spend our time doing indoor activities. To be truthful, none of us were excited about the prospect of a character meet but decided to do it anyway. Well, we were ushered into the room and THERE HE WAS! Mickey Mouse was holding out his arms for me to hug him! I fell into his arms while blubbering something like “I’m almost 50 years old and this is my first time meeting Mickey Mouse!” My husband and son still tease me about my reaction but I don’t care – it’s a great memory!
Finally!
Thank you to evamarie320 and Mickey for giving us the warm fuzzies only a story like this can provide. We can’t wait to see all of the character pictures from your next park visit!
