Shopping in the Epcot Countries – Get to Know France

Epcot’s World Showcase countries are a magical entree into the world at large. Even if you can’t get to China or France or Morocco, you can gain some insight into the culture of those places through the attractions, architecture, and food represented in the Epcot pavilions. But let’s face it, one of the key enticements of the World Showcase pavilions is the shopping. Even if you’ll never get to London, you can get souvenirs from the United Kingdom without ever leaving Florida.

We’re going on a tour of the shopping opportunities in Epcot’s World Showcase countries — this time we’re visiting France. Bear in mind that the merchandise mix in the parks is constantly changing. While all the photos in these posts were taken in the first half of 2019, it’s quite possible that some of these specific items will be gone by the time you visit. They will, however, give you the flavor of what you can expect to find as you shop around the World Showcase.

Perfume and Makeup

The France Pavilion is an authorized outpost for several French fragrance and cosmetics brands. The sales staff there is generally knowledgable and helpful in making suggestions. There are often special events where representatives from the fragrance brands come to explain their products and offer promotional items.

Food and Wine

There’s a real wine shop in the France pavilion, with a selection of several dozen bottles (all French, bien sur). You can also find a small range of packaged foods.

Clothing and Accessories

Surprising for a country like France, the clothing options are limited. You can expect to find a small selection of berets and jokey tees. Sometimes there are few items of children’s clothing. The France pavilion typically sells a range of Camila Paris brand barrettes and hair clips. My three daughters, all with long, thick hair, are big fans of this line because they hold well and rarely break.

The Eiffel Tower

The range of items in the France pavilion that depict the Eiffel tower is many and varied: snow globes, tees, figurines, wall art, and so on.

Disney Tie-Ins

The France pavilion currently has a small selection of Ratatouille merchandise, but we expect this to grow many times when the Ratatouille-themed ride opens. The pavilion also sells Disney princess merchandise with a French twist, as well as items depicting Marie the cat and Minnie Mouse with an oooh la la flair.
