Bus Fire Shuts Down Magic Kingdom Bus Service
A fire on a Disney Transportation bus Sunday shut down all bus traffic directly to and from the Magic Kingdom’s main entrance. All guests had to travel via ferry or monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom and vice versa. The Transportation and Ticket Center made a rare attempt at actually being a transportation hub as it became the destination for all resort buses servicing the Magic Kingdom.
Studious touring-planners will take a mental note that a flaming bus outside the Magic Kingdom means it’s time to get in line for the monorail or ferry before the standby line gets too long.
There have been no reports of injuries related to this incident.
Update: we have learned from our readers on location at Walt Disney World that this incident occurred somewhere around 2 p.m. and was resolved quickly. Thanks all for the update!
Thanks for the updates guys! That’s what I get for trying to post half-awake in the middle of the night when a tipster called me saying “ZOMG! There was a fire!” 😉
Yeah, by 2pm they had the fire out. I was on my way back to my hotel since I had to leave for the airport. We rode the monorail loop again and I grabbed some pictures (in my twitter timeline.). Unless there were 2 fires yesterday, the timeline is definitely off.
(Also, I think you meant “studious” touring-planners, as the Studios were not affected by this incident. 😛 )
The timing is very off in this post. The incident happened somewhere around 2pm, and was resolved by about 3pm. Buses were running just fine by 7:30pm.
