Come On Ride The Train…Brightline Coming to Disney Springs

This is HUGE news! According to reports, a Brightline rail station is planning on being added at the Walt Disney World Resort at Disney Springs. Brightline has officially shared that they had reached a deal with Disney for the station.

This new proposed station at Disney Springs is slated to include a lobby on the ground level, passenger facilities, and an upper-level train platform.

There is currently no word on where the station will be located, nor when the construction on the station would begin at the shopping and dining district, but it is expected that it will take about 2-3 years to complete once work starts.

“We’re excited to work with Brightline as they pursue the potential development of a train station at Walt Disney World Resort, a project that would support our local economy and offer a bold, forward-looking transportation solution for our community and guests,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World Resort.

Brightline had been looking to add a station to the Walt Disney World Resort as part of its expansion in Central Florida. Currently, they are working on adding high-speed rail service from South Florida to Orlando International Airport. The South Florida to Central Florida option is expected to be completed by 2022, with a station at Orlando International Airport Terminal C.

  • We live in Coral Springs. This is the best news yet. We love going to Disney Springs. Now all we would have to do is hop on Brightline and be there in a few hours, great weekend get away. Thank you Disney and Brightline.

  • Hopefully Orlando’s Amtrak station will be on the line, too. I’ve always been disappointed that I can’t take Amtrak to WDW. I’ve used AutoTrain a few times, but Lorton VA is still a long drive for us.
