Disney Cruise Line in a Jiffy: What is Edge?

Edge is Disney Cruise Line’s name for it’s tween club – available for guests ages 11-14. Hours vary daily (check the Personal Navigator app for the specifics during your trip), but Edge hours tend to start mid-morning and may run as late as 1:00 a.m. There will be counselors on site at all times to facilitate interactions among the youth and make sure everyone is safe.

Edge will have activities such as video games, board games, movies, books, music, and art activities available at all times. Additionally, there will be organized activities scheduled throughout the day. Again, check the Navigator app for specifics during your trip, but you can expect to find things like dance parties, improv games, scavenger hunts, or trivia contests. Vibe counselors may also accompany teens on “field trips” to other parts of the ship. For example, they might lead a group trip to an animation lesson or to a karaoke session. Not surprisingly, there will be more options on longer sailings and larger ships.

While the activities are similar across the ships, the decor is different, with the Wish (the newest ship) being more modern and the Magic and Wonder (the older ships) being more rustic.

Disney Cruise Line has announced that during a fall 2024 drydock refurbishment, Edge on the Dream will be moving to Deck 5 from its current location in a tower above the pool deck (that space is being turned into a concierge room). While we don’t know all the details, it appears that Edge and Vibe will splitting Vibe’s space, including the outdoor pool deck. No word yet on weather the same change will take place on the Fantasy, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s on DCL’s agenda for the next Fantasy drydock.

Both are bite-sized nuggets of information that can better help you understand a Disney term or planning topic, but here we’ll be focused on all thing Disney Cruise Line (DCL).
