Disney Cruise Line Themed Dinners to Recreate at Home

We’ve been under stay at home orders for…well I’ve lost count of the weeks, but it’s been a long time! We are scraping the barrel of ideas of how to stay entertained at home. Our kids initiated themed dinners, and it’s turned out to be quite a hoot! Together we came up with a few Disney Cruise Line influenced themes you can do with your family!

Formal Night – Now I know formal night isn’t for everyone, but it’s our family’s favorite night on every cruise! After weeks of being almost exclusively pajama-casual at home, throwing on some fancy clothes actually is a lot of fun! It’s a great excuse to recreate lobster night – although this time you won’t have your amazing server to take the meat out of the shell for you! Bonus menu challenge: DIY chocolate souffle!

Pirate Night – It’s a staple of nearly every Disney Cruise! Go pirate-light with a Pirates in the Caribbean bandana from a previous cruise (you know you still have them!), or full Blackbeard – this one may even come out more authentic if you’ve decided to skip the razor during quarantine! For the Pirates of legal rum-drinking age, try your hand at mixing your own Sunken Treasure. Drink up me hearties!

Mardi Gras Night – There is nothing like the energy in Tiana’s Place on Mardi Gras night! The success of Mardi Gras night relies on two things – good food and good music! So simmer up a big pot of gumbo, indulge in some freshly fried beignets, and crank up some good jazz. You can’t go wrong with the sweet sounds of the Crawfish Crooners!

Drawn to Magic Night – Everyone is an artist at Animator’s Palate! Now if you have some kind of software to make your drawing come to life like they do on the ship, that would be peak awesome. Even without the animation magic, it’s always fun to try to outdraw your family! Since the theme of Animator’s Palate relies on the catalog of Disney characters, it’s a great night to Disneybound as your favorite. Animator’s night wouldn’t be the same without the world famous Black Truffle Pasta Pursiettes – drooling just thinking about the smell!
