Disney in a Minute: What is Adventures by Disney?
We’re here with a series of quick posts, “Disney in a Minute,” bite-sized nuggets of information that can better help you understand a Disney term or planning topic. Enjoy!
You’re probably familiar with Disney’s theme parks and Disney Cruise Line, but did you know that there is another arm of Disney Destinations — Adventures by Disney. Adventures by Disney (AbD) is Disney’s luxury group tour company, visiting destinations around the world with Disney-trained guides supplemented with local experts. Key words in that sentence are “luxury” (the trips are accommodated in top hotels), “group” (the tours typically have at least 30 guests, depending on the itinerary), and “Disney-trained” (during the off season, many AbD guides work in parks entertainment or guest services, or on DCL).
AbD currently offers trips in Africa, Asia, Australia, North America, and Central and South America, as well as a truly epic around-the-world trip of a lifetime. There are land-based trips as well as river cruises and small ship adventures. Trips may take as few as three days (for short escapes) or as many as 24 days (for that around the world journey). Prices start at around $2,700 for the escapes up to a whopping $115,000+ for the world tour.
Adventures by Disney trips include accommodations, entertainment, most meals, transfers, expert attention, and loads more. Are the trip expensive? Yep. Are they probably more expensive that an equivalent trip you plan yourself? Maybe. Is it worth it to leave every detail of the planning to someone else? Depending on your situation, most emphatically yes. I’m a veteran of 10 AbD trips and have my 11th booked. For me, it’s totally worth it.
