Disney in a Minute: What are Enchanting Extras?
If you’re looking for a little extra magic to your Disney World vacation, the Enchanting Extras Collection offers a couple ways to add it. This assortment of upcharge “extras” includes a wide variety of activities. Tours, crafts, splurgy seats at the water parks – everything you can reserve that isn’t lodging, dining, or a time to ride.
Enchanting Extras require a reservation, which can be made on the Disney World website or in the My Disney Experience app. Some extras plus up something you can do for free, like reserved viewing for fireworks shows. Others are more immersive experiences that are really special. Some are more ‘worth it’ than others. None of them are essential to your first Disney World trip.

When you read ‘additional cost’ at Disney World, that often means ‘not cheap’. But Enchanting Extras span a wide range of prices. For example, at Animal Kingdom, the Caring for Giants tour is only $39 per person, but Wild Africa Trek is over $200 per person. At the highest end of the range are custom VIP tours that start at an eye-popping $3,150, or $450 per hour.
Enchanting Extras includes a lot of things we think of as ‘regular’ recreation, like mini-golf, golf, and tickets to Cirque du Soleil. But here’s a sampling of some of the more unique experiences.
⭐ Keys to the Kingdom Tour in the Magic Kingdom. A five-hour walking tour with access to backstage areas, including the “Utilidor” tunnels that run underneath the MK.
⭐ Take the Behind the Seeds Tour at EPCOT and learn about the greenhouses on the Living With the Land ride
⭐ Over in Disney’ Hollywood Studios, you can build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop or your own droid at Droid Depot.

⭐ The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where your littles are transformed into princesses or knights.
⭐ Create your own Spanish Mosaic art at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
⭐ The newest addition to the Enchanting Extras Collection is the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience at EPCOT. This adults-only event takes place inside Spaceship Earth! You can enjoy private window seating with views of the “Luminous: The Symphony of Us” fireworks show. Champagne, exclusive cocktails, a tasting of savory bites, and sweet treats are included.
These extras can be a nice way to add more than just the regular round of rides and attractions to your Disney vacation. But if it’s your first trip, your budget might thank you for skipping them. Very few come back from a first trip to Disney World with complaints that there wasn’t enough to do. And if you do decide to add a little extra, look past the sticker shock and see whether the price is per group or per person. For large groups, some of the higher-priced extras are cheaper than alternatives on a per-person basis.
