Enjoying Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs
As Orlando locals, my family loves sneaking in a few hours at Disney Springs. Whether we’re casually shopping, catching live music, or just grabbing a sweet treat, it’s one of our favorite ways to spend a low-stress Disney day. And when summer rolls in, so does one of our favorite foodie events – The Flavors of Florida Festival at Disney Springs.
Yes, it’s hot – Florida-in-July hot. But this festival somehow makes the blazing sun more bearable. Maybe it’s the refreshing drinks, maybe it’s seeing that cute Orange Bird everywhere, or maybe it’s the orange-infused everything. Either way, we’re here for it.
This post is a running review of our family’s experience at Flavors of Florida. I’ll continue to update it as we taste more dishes and hopefully catch some culinary demonstrations. For a full guide to menus, locations, and schedules, check out the official TouringPlans Festival Guide.
So Many Food Options (and Yes, Orange Everything)
Most dining locations – from sit-down restaurants to churro carts – offer a limited-time dish inspired by Florida flavors. And yes, there’s a lot of citrus. But it’s not just oranges and key lime pies. Chefs are getting creative with ingredients like St. Augustine peppers, Florida seafood, and even Cuban-inspired flavors, giving this festival a real sense of place.
Our family didn’t make reservations this time (we’re more of a Disney Springs “mall walk” crew), so we focused on desserts and quick bites. Tough job, right? Mom’s gotta “research,” after all. The festival continues through August 10th, leaving plenty of opportunity for more dining experiences.
Amorette’s Patisserie

Orange Mousse — $8.00
This dessert is a work of art, delicate and stunning. The orange jam inside the mousse is a nice surprise, but the real star? The Grand Marnier-soaked hazelnut financier at the bottom. It gave me serious hummingbird cake vibes – dense, flavorful, and delicious.
Tropical Dream Colada — $6.49
Absolutely divine. It’s a frozen blend of POG juice (passionfruit, orange, and guava) topped with whipped cream and a passionfruit drizzle. I had the non- alcoholic version, but you can spike it with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum or Malibu Coconut Rum. I’ll definitely be back, you know, to make sure the quality holds up.
Swirls on the Water

Orange Bird Dole Whip Cone — $6.49 (DDP snack credit)
This one is an Instagram dream-and a race against time. It melts fast, so snap your photo fast and then dive in. A sweet, sunny classic.
Key Lime Sundae — $6.49 (DDP snack credit)
This was a miss for us. It leaned towards tart and felt more like regular lime. Having a graham cracker crust does not automatically make it key lime. If you like a punch of sour, it might be for you. I will say the portion is very shareable, and not as messy as a cone in the sun.
Sunshine Churros
Orange Jelly Churro Donut — $7.99
They’re serving a Florida-inspired churro. A donut-shaped churro with Smuckers orange jam, whipped cream, and a gummy orange candy on top. Ours was made fresh; it is a solid seasonal treat for a churro fan.
Culinary Demonstrations
Every Friday morning (before Disney Springs officially opens for the day), they’re hosting free chef demos with local and Disney chefs. You do need a reservation, and yes, they go fast. New slots drop every Monday morning, so set your alarms. My alarm is set, I’ll update if I snag a spot!
Orange Bird Seek and Find

My TouringPlans heart lives for this kind of thing. The Orange Bird scavenger hunt is back – and it’s a little easier this year (thank goodness). The clues are more straightforward, and the hunt stays in a more compact area, no marathon walk to the West Side.
You’ll find the map, it’s super cute and includes stickers, in the festival guide located throughout Disney Springs.
Last year’s version required us to work for every letter. This year, it’s still fun, and yes, there is a prize. A commemorative button that’s definitely earned after braving the Florida heat. Want a spoiler? Leave a comment – I got you.

Final Thoughts: Should You Go?
If you already enjoy Disney Springs, the Flavors of Florida Festival is the cherry (or orange twist) on top. It adds flavor, fun, a walking, talking orange/pine tree, and family fun activities that make even a quick trip feel special. Whether you’re a local popping in for dessert or planning a longer Disney vacation, it’s worth checking out.
And don’t worry- I’ll keep “researching” for science. And snacks!
