The Walt Disney World Resort will no longer offer Grand Gathering Experiences beyond January 28, 2012. The Grand Gathering concept was introduced in 2003 as part of the Magical Gathering promotion to entice groups with large parties to visit the resort. The following experiences will all make their way to Yesterland come January: Safari Celebration, Good Morning Breakfast, and the International Dinner & Illuminations Dessert Party.

  • Same here. I finally have a group large enough, and now they don’t offer it anymore. Darn! Oh well, we booked the Pirate and Pal firework cruise instead.

  • Just got off the phone with WDW and no plans for replacement experiences… and no announcements at D23… super sad as we too were looking forward to trying one of these in October 2012

  • I am disappointed. We love the Safari Celebration. We were planning to try the Good Morning Breakfast this summer. Maybe this means that there will be exciting, new experiences to enjoy?

  • Of course, just as I am planning next summer’s family reunion. Any news on any other large-group celebrations on the horizon?
