Internet Enhancements Forthcoming for Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Disney recently released a brief message about the status of internet capabilities at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels:

We’re currently installing Internet enhancements for the future enjoyment of our Guests. At this time, we do not have any additional details of those enhancements. We’ll share all the details at a future date.

While this note leaves a lot to to the imagination, it at least shows Disney is looking to address guest concerns about Internet access at the resorts.

  • Good God. Why do some people even go to WDW? What do you mean “Well it can’t get much worse then it is!”? I hear comments from people like that all the time, yet they have many many trips under their belt. Why go if you hate it so badly? Stay home and let those of us that love the parks go and enjoy them.

  • Outstanding and informative. Almost as good as when they said they were adding that part to the thing so everyone could better enjoy the stuff.

  • It would be nice if Disney offered Internet access at no charge, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

Maybe these forthcoming changes are related to providing access to a user interface for the “next gen” personalized experiences that may make their way into the parks. Disney could offer free access to sites where guests could book dining, character greetings, FASTPASS windows, etc. For this to work easily for people, my guess is WiFi would be part of the solution.

What’s with these cryptic messages from Disney recently?

  • I’m hoping it means they’ll start offering wi-fi instead of the LAN cable.
