Is the Magic Kingdom Testing Roaming Characters?

We’ve noticed something new in the Magic Kingdom over the last few weeks!

Around 11:30am, we’ve spotted Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy taking swift walks near the Castle!

We’ve seen the Fab 5 in different pairs and solo, so we aren’t sure if there is a pattern. One thing is for sure, they give fist bumps and high fives, but they don’t stop! We’ve seen the characters pat little ones on the head and we’ve even seen a quick little dance here and there, but we haven’t witnessed any of the characters stopping for photos or autographs.

Because we’ve been around a lot watching Cinderella Castle painting progress, we’ve managed to map out the path the characters take. This isn’t an official cavalcade and no times or characters are listed on MDE for this walk.

Again, this isn’t a guarantee. This is just what we’ve observed several times!

Enter: The characters have been emerging from the backstage entrance near the Cheshire Café across the walkway from Cosmic Rays.

R, R: From there, they make a right toward Tomorrowland and turn right again as they head toward the bridge as shown in the image above.

R, L: After the characters cross the Tomorrowland bridge, they make a right and head down the bridge to Fantasyland where they head left at the Maribel meet and greet at the Fairytale Garden.

L: Once our friends reach the walkway between Sir Mickey’s and the Castle, they loop around the back of the Castle path. This is where we’ve seen them get hemmed up a bit, but they still keep moving – just a little slower depending on crowds.

R, End: Finally, Mickey and pals make a right at Sleepy Hollow and keep straight on the path in Liberty Square to the walls ahead where they disappear.

We think these walk-by-waves might be a way to add a sprinkle of joy to take the edge off all of the walls and construction. What do you think? Are you fast enough to snap a selfie with a moving Mouse?
