Magic Kingdom to add an all-new Theater

A brand new entertainment space is coming to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

The performance space is coming to Main Street U.S.A. and will be based on the iconic Willis Theater in 1920s Kansas City. This new theater gives Disney many more options in live entertainment in the park. The design of the theater looks right at home on Main Street!

Details about the theater were few and far between. We don’t know what shows will be performed at this new venue. It is expected that it will feature Broadway-style entertainment like Aladdin and Frozen at Disney California Adventure.

One thing is for sure and that is that you can bet that as soon as I learn more information, I’ll make sure to share it with you!

  • Where exactly would they put this thing? Only place I can think is to replace the building where Tony’s restaurant is located. If directly on main street which building/store gets the boot?

    • Next to Tony’s Town Square, there’s a gate that leads to a bypass that is mostly used by cast, but also opened to guests when crowds are high. Looking at maps and such, there’s enough room for a theater just beyond that gate to the bypass, and they might then keep the bypass open full time (which would be great for those who want to avoid Main Street to get from point A to B).

  • I’m really hoping we get Mickey and The Magician, or a variant thereof. this is a great addition to the park though, so excited!
