Should You Rope Drop TRON?

TRON does not open during Early Entry in the Magic Kingdom, but lots of guests spend their 30 minutes of “extra” time in line for the popular attraction rather than riding the things that are open.

Early Entry is a benefit for Disney resort guests that allows them access to attractions in each park 30 minutes before regular entry. All guests are allowed to tap into all four Disney World parks at the same time, but only Disney resort guests are allowed to access attractions for the first 30 minutes the parks are open.

TRON is not open during Early Entry, but other Tomorrowland attractions, like Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear, are! Fantasyland is also open during Early Entry, however lots of folks line up at TRON during their Early Entry time to save money on the Lightning Lane Single Pass or to save time in line later. Check out the video below where Len explains why this may not be the best touring strategy!

  • This is solid logic, except Tron often opens early. We have risked it several times and ridden Tron during ETPE and still gotten on at least Space Mountain or Buzz before regular park open.

I think this is where experience comes in and being able to call audibles. Knowing what to do when an Early Morning magic Attraction is down is key to still making use of your time.
