Six Facts About Universal’s New Helios Grand Hotel
Step into a majestic Medeterranian-inspired hotel that offers immediate access inside Epic Universe, unparalleled views of this new theme park, and amazing new amenities. Find out six facts about Universal Helios Grand Hotel, the newest Universal hotel located at the park of Epic Universe, which opens in 2025.
Dedicated Theme Park Entrance
The number one benefit of staying at Helios Grand (we’ll call it Helios from here on out) is an exclusive entrance into the new Epic Universe theme park. This private entrance bypasses all the bustle of the main entrance. It puts you closer to riding headliner attractions like Harry Potter and the Battle for the Ministry and Universal Monsters Unchained. Want to take a mid-day break? Your hotel room is minutes away from anywhere in the park.
Amazing Views
Seriously, the views into the theme park will be spectacular. The lobby overlooks the Oculus water feature at ground level, Bar Helios offers panoramic views of the park from the top of the resort, and Flora Taverna’s outdoor dining terrace is a great place to eat and people watch. Most rooms have a view of the theme park or pool, with some having standard views that overlook the fireworks launch site in front of the hotel.
Dining
Helios will have four dining venues in addition to the theme park restaurants inside Epic Universe. Flor Taverna is a full-service dining venue with a breakfast buffet and al fresco dining. Lunch and Dinner menus are inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean.
Bar Helios is located at the top of Helios and offers 360-degree views of Orlando and Epic Universe. Signature cocktails, entrees, and small plates round out Bar Helios’ menu. Lotus Lagoon is the hotel’s pool bar and restaurant and is located in a small peninsula in the middle of the pool. Finally, the Aurora Market is your destination for coffee, snacks, drinks, and grab-and-go items.
No Express Pass
It’s true folks, the God out front should have told ya.
Complimentary Universal Express Pass, which is offered with a stay at Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific, and Portofino Bay, is not offered at Helios. Part of Universal’s contract with Loews requires them to offer Express with stays at the three original hotels and we do not expect them to offer Express at Helios. Never say never, but I don’t think it will ever come to this hotel.
Multiple Room Options
Helios offers lots and lots of room options. There are three standard rooms: a 325 sq ft room with two queen beds, a 340 sq ft room with a king bed, and 415 sq ft room with two queens and a pull out couch.
Multiple suite options are also available including 15 family suites themed to How to Train Your Dragon (545 sq ft), a King Suite that offers a separate lounge area (495 sq ft), a 740 sq ft Celestial Suite, a Hospitality Suite at 1200 sq ft, and a Presidental Suite.
Luxurious Pool
Helios’ resort-style pool is a tropical oasis to the front right of the hotel. The winding pool has a zero-entry feature and hugs the Lotus Lagoon pool bar. Like at other Universal hotel pools there are cabanas for rent, lounge chair mobile ordering, and even underwater speakers in the pool.
Universal’s Helios Grand Hotel is operated by Loews Resorts and will open in 2025. Booking is currently not open and pricing has yet to be revealed. For all the latest on Epic Universe and Helios Grand Hotel stay tuned to TouringPlans!

Mediterranean!
Probably a good idea to withhold Express Pass from Helios. If Helios had complementary Express Passes, there would be very little reason to stay at a Loews hotel unless the Helios rates are far greater than the Loews’ rates.
