TouringPlans Teaches: WDW Touring Episode 301

After presenting all of the data and talking about wait time trends and the impact of early entry, we’re finally presenting our first full-day WDW touring strategy!

In this week’s episode, we’ll show why you need to consider visiting Magic Kingdom on a day with shorter operating hours, like a Halloween or Holiday Party. Then we’ll go through a full sample “short” day and show how those low crowds can help you accomplish a lot of attractions even with an early park closure.

Bonus – this week we have a very special guest cameo. Someone that will be quite familiar to anyone that’s been following TouringPlans for a while 🙂

So be sure to watch above or on YouTube and to share with any friends that have trips planned during party season!

  • Nice. 4pm. I never thought of that. I sure am glad you have! This is an eye opener. I feel silly but that feels liberating. Never imaged I would get in line for that at that time. Can’t imagine going without Touring Plans.

  • Thank you. Do those in the afternoon and just bite the bullet? Try to get a ILL for 7DMT?

    • I mean, on a party day, no wait times are going to be super-terrible. I’d personally try to hit 7DMT right before party guests are allowed to enter the park.

  • Becky,
If you are not eligible for early entry and get to MK at 9am on party days, what ride should you start with?

    • I’d start with Fantasyland, excluding anything with over 30 minute posted wait at that point (probably 7DMT, and maybe Peter Pan)

  • Hey Becky. This is great, as always. Super helpful and informative. My question though is two fold: does this mean Genie+ is a “bad idea” on party days; and if not, does it change touring strategy much?

    • I think Genie+ on party days is at least unnecessary, and potentially a bad idea. There have been reports from the first two party dates of Lightning Lane queues being longer than standby ones …

  • Went today; Magic Kingdom closes at 6 for Halloween party. We got on everything with minimal wait times and were able to get almost immediate genie return times for everything! Would highly recommend going on a day like this!
