Walking through Universal Orlando and you might see some large plastic cups with flashing lights on the bottom. What is this cup? Where can I buy it? Do I get any discounts with it?

The Blinky Cup is a hallmark of Halloween Horror Nights for decades – a 16 oz plastic cup with a small battery and LED lights that put out a light strobe that looks like a “blink”. This blinking of the lights on-and-off gives the cup it’s name, the Blinky Cup. Blinky Cups change every year at Halloween Horror Nights and many fans collect one each year they go. Blinky Cup prices change every year, but they usually are priced $4 on top the price of a 12 oz beer or mixed cocktail. “$4 for some lights? No sale” you might say, but the blinky cup offers 16 oz refills at a the regular drink price – consider it 30% more for the same price! Blinky Cups are only sold durring Halloween Horror Nights and the refills are only valid during the event.

  • I use my Blinky cup for daytime discounted draft refills too, even at IOA. Although that’s only the typical $1 discount.
