Park hours, parade schedules, Fantasmic showings and all the other new Disney information is going in the giant  TouringPlans.com hopper. A couple turns of the wheel, the push of  button and a pinch of salt an we’ll have the updates incorporated into the Crowd Calendar for you.

An early glance shows that some changes to the recommendations for park days may occur based on the new schedules, specifically because of the new Fantasmic showings announced for November and December.

Stay tuned. We’ll post a blog when the final updates are completed.

  • The worst part, IMHO, is that now that we are inside the 30 day window, as subscribers, we won’t have the “inside scoop” on the general public when the changes are posted. I am just a little disappointed in the way things are working out right now.

  • Still anxiously awaiting for the changes to the crowd calender. Any timeline as to when the changes will be published? So glad that Fantasmic is being shown more now.

    • Still waiting right along with you. This paired with the rumors of no showing of the Lights of Winter at Epcot this year, well, let’s just say that the magic is starting to leak out of my vacation balloon. I have juggled and tweaked as much as I can on my own. I really was hoping for an update before now. I do understand that the team has more to do in their lives, but it doesn’t keep me from freaking out a little. lol

    • Me too. I’m checking at least once a day. I planned our ADRs and days so carefully that I’m not sure what I’m going to do if the suggested parks change a lot – just go with what I already have scheduled anyway or try to rearrange our plans. Why did have to mess with their schedule?

  • The additional F! showings have given me nothing but heartburn ever since I learned of them. I am anxiously awaiting the updates so that I can further tweak our plans.

      • Check the Disney calendar, there are many new F! showings now in late November and early December.

  • Hi Fred

We fly out on this Friday and I am using your crowd planner info to visit DS on Tue 10th and Fri 13th. Do you think I should still visit these days? I am going to use the touring plans to get round the parks but would love it to be on a day recommended if poss.

  • As Seinfeld said famously, what’s deal with that? If everyone in America is so destitute, out of work, and living paycheck to paycheck, how could crowd levels possibly be swelling to new heights month by month?

    • My thought on that is: instead of going to Hawaii or abroad (etc), families are “cutting back” on their vacations. $700 plane tickets per person vs $200 in gas for the entire family to go. WDW’s also been offering specials year round this year (even for Christmas!), so that goes with that theory: people are, again, “cutting back” by staying in motels off property.

Also, touringplans make their predictions based off of Magic Kingdom, which top attractions are suffering from Space Mountain being closed. That’s the part that has be utterly confused about Thanksgiving: how can those numbers be SO low?!? (Space mountain opens Nov21st it seems like MK’s going to be extra packed because of that, so it seems like the numbers should be the worst ever this year for Thanksgiving).

We want to go either Nov26-30 or Dec 4-7.

      • What is going on early December? Early December is suppose to be one of the softest/ least busy times of the year, and yet most rooms are booked? And, we’re seeing 5-8’s?

      • I got this from Tanya U. with Small World Vacations:

“Unfortunately there are no rooms available for either Caribbean Beach or Animal Kingdom Lodge 12/10-12/13 due to the annual Pop Warner Football/Cheerleader competition 12/5-12/13. The competition participants stay at mostly value resorts but it causes a big ripple effect throughout all other resorts. There are no rooms available at any values or moderates and only suites available at the deluxe resorts.”

We decided on thanksgiving instead. Will we get the calendar updates by then Fred?

  • I was pleasantly surprised to see crowd levels at 7 for our Thanksgiving trip. But when I saw they recently increased park hours for that week, I figured the crowd level projections would go up, too. Guess we’ll wait and see what Fred pulls out of the hopper! 🙂
