Walt Disney World Introduces New Dining Plan – Disney Dining Plan Plus
The Disney Dining Plans are extremely popular for Guests traveling to Walt Disney World. With these dining plans, Guests are able to get quick service meals, table service meals, and snacks all for one simple price. These dining plans make it so that a Walt Disney World vacation is essentially all-inclusive and allows Guests to not have to think about pricing for what they are eating while visiting the resort overall.
Up until now, there were three different dining plans for Guests to choose from. They were the Quick Service Dining Plan, the Disney Dining Plan, and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan. Today, the Walt Disney World Resort has added a fourth plan, and much like everything with Disney lately….they’ve added a Plus option.
With the new Disney Dining Plan Plus option, it’s essentially a happy medium in between the Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan Plus allows Guests
- 2 Meals Per Night of Stay – Any combination of Table-Service and Quick-Service Meals
- 2 Snacks or Nonalcoholic Beverages Per Night of Stay
- 1 Resort Refillable Mug (eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at Quick-Service locations at any Disney Resort hotel)
Here is what is included with each option:
Quick-Service Meal
- 1 Entrée
- 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
Table-Service Meal
Meals redeemed at breakfast will include:
- 1 Entrée
- 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
-OR-
- 1 Full Buffet or Family-Style Meal
- 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
Meals redeemed at lunch or dinner will include:
- 1 Entrée
- 1 Dessert
- 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
-OR-
- 1 Full Buffet or Family-Style Meal
- 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
As with the other dining plans, beverages are included with each meal and Guests 21 and older may choose a beer, wine or cocktail for their beverage, while those 21 and under may choose any specialty non-alcoholic beverage.
Snacks include:
- Frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle or fruit bar
- Popcorn
- 12 oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea
- Prepackaged milk or juice
- Piece of whole fruit
- Bag of snacks
- 20 oz. bottle of Coca-Cola, Sprite or Dasani water
- 20 oz. fountain soft drink
The specific number of meal options and snacks are determined by the number of nights included in the package stay. The good thing is that meals don’t expire until your vacation is over, so they can be rolled over and redeemed in any order throughout your vacation.
The cost of this new Disney Dining Plan Plus option is $94.61 per adult (ages 10+) and $35.01 per child (ages 3-9)
With this new Disney Dining Plan Plus option, it allows Guests to be able to enjoy great meals at Disney, without potentially feeling completely stuffed at the end of the vacation. (Because trust me…I think we’ve all been there when on the various Disney Dining Plans!)
Personally I’ve found that for at least the last five years, my TiW card has been the better deal.
Don’t forget, tip not included (meaning you are still dropping 15-20% out of pocket in addition to what you paid for the dining plan) on the table service meals-
How does this work with the restaurants that require two table service credits? Does that mean if you want to go to “Le Cellier” for example, you only get one meal for that day?
This seems much more maximize-able than the Deluxe plan. Three table service meals per day (which would get you the most for your Deluxe plan money) is too much of a strain on both touring time and stomach space, but two is feasible.
