Trip Planning Questions? Ask Us!

Share This! gets hundreds of questions about trip planning each month. In response to that (and to keep up with the ever-increasing incoming mail rate), we are trying out a new feature on our blog. You email your questions to and we pick the best, most interesting, or just most entertaining ones to answer here on the blog. And readers can weigh in in the comments section.

We pride ourselves on telling it like it is around here, so count on the tone of the articles to be somewhere between Slate’s Dear Prudie and Samuel L. Jackson.

Will it work? We don’t know, but we’re willing to try it out for a month and see what happens. All identifying information will be stripped from your mails before we publish them on the blog.

So bring it on – operators are standing by.

Laurel Stewart

Laurel has been visiting Walt Disney World since 1971 when she was negative-15 years old and running the Disney races since 2007. Her favorite attraction is Big Thunder Mountain.

I am in the middle of planning my 1st ever trip to WDW in August 2012 for myself, wife and 2 kids [8 & 5]. We love water parks, do you recommend Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon? If we do choose to spend time in the 2 waterparks, do you recommend renting a locker? If not, how do you keep track of your stuff that you don’t want to ge wt [camera, phone, credit cards, etc]? Hope to hear back, thanks!

If I stay at on Disney Resort, can I swim in the pools at the other resorts?

Some resorts will only allow their own guests to use their pools – the Yacht and Beach, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Bay Lake Tower. Others are at their discretion depending on how busy they are to let guests from other resorts in. The only pool you’re explicitly able to use is the one at your own resort or its sister resort (like Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter).
