“Rock Your Disney Side” Coming To Disney Parks

In a tradition that started back in 2012 to kick-off the “One More Disney Day” promotion, Disney Parks have been throwing 24-hour, all-night parties for their guests. This year, the tradition continues in an event called “Rock Your Disney Side.”

The special 24-hour party will take place kicking-off Memorial Day Weekend (starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, May 23, and lasting to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24). The event will be held on both coasts – at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort.

This year’s theme invites guests to show off their Disney Side by dressing as either their favorite Disney hero or villain. (Costumes must follow the same rules that apply during events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.) During the party, there will be plenty of character meet and greets, special entertainment, food offerings, merchandise, and more.

To find out more about the event, make sure to follow along at the blog here, or check out Disney’s new website, rockyourdisneyside.com

  • Is there and addition charge for this. If you stay from 6AM to 6AM do you have to pay for two days admission to MK?

    • The whole 24 hour day is included in your park admission.

Do keep in mind though that you will have to leave on May 24 after the park closes at 6 a.m. Disney will clear the park of all guests. If you would like to visit the Magic Kingdom on May 24 after visiting on May 23 and staying all night for the 24 hour party, you will have to use another day’s admission into the park.

  • Will you guys be posting any touring plans or suggestions for this 24 hour event? I’m excited for it, but also a little overwhelmed because it’s Star Wars Weekends and would definitely like to be able to enjoy both.

  • How will this affect park crowds? It’s our last day at Disney and I don’t want to be in line all day!!

    • Past events have increased crowd levels, especially in the late afternoon and evening once people get off work. The crowd calendar will see appropriate adjustments.

Based on my personal experience, if you are there for the 6:00am opening, you should have very low waits for at least the first few hours.

      • What about MK crowds on 5/24? Will they be effected at all? Does this change the park’s opening time?
