Details on Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort

Back during the D23 Expo, many things were announced for the various Disney Resorts, but one very small mention was made for something called Pixar Fest that would be occurring at Disneyland Resort next year. Today, we finally learned a few details about what this celebration will bring.

Pixar Fest will kick off on April 13, 2018 and it will be a limited-time event that will feature the debut of an all-new fireworks spectacular and the return of two favorite parades. Guests will also be able to experience new décor, atmosphere entertainment, themed food and beverage and new merchandise items. And yes, there will be Pixar characters too.

The new fireworks spectacular will be called Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular. The show will take place at Disneyland park and it will feature dazzling pyrotechnics and memorable music, all tied together to celebrate the theme of friendship. Guests are invited to embark on an emotional journey that starts when unlikely Pixar characters first meet. The story then moves along as they set out on adventures and overcome obstacles together and celebrates the friendships forged by beloved Pixar pals. The story will come to life via projections on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. Oh and you haven’t seen anything until you see Buzz Lightyear in a special flyover over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Also at Disneyland, the Pixar Play Parade will appear at the theme park for the first time. The parade will begin with an appearance by the iconic Pixar lamp, Luxo Jr. In addition, new parade elements will include characters from Up and Inside Out.

At Disney California Adventure, the Paint the Night parade will return. In addition to segments showcasing Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Cars, a new Pixar story will join parade! Also, in the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land, Guests will be able to experience the Pixar Short Film Festival,  with films like “For the Birds” and “Lava”.  The short films will rotate during the celebration.Also, the Paradise Gardens area will feature a new Pixar-themed musical troupe along with Pixar character greeting opportunities. There will also be crafts and activities for younger guests.

The concept of friendship is important with the new festival and new merchandise, including an exclusive Pixar Fest charm bracelet will be featured.
