Move over old MagicBands! Welcome cooler, hipper MagicBand slap bracelets.

OK, let me back up. The old-style MagicBands are still everywhere. They’re the ones that you’ll get for free if you stay at a Disney resort hotel. There are dozens of premium options in the old snap-on style available for purchase throughout the parks. But if you want to have the same functionality in a new form, Disney is now selling MagicBands in the style of slap bracelets. You know, those straight piece of coated flat metal that you slap onto your wrist.

Slap bracelets are typically more secure than the snap-on old school MagicBand bracelets. They are unlikely to accidentally come loose if you shake your wrist or inadvertently bang it into something. On the other hand, the fact that they’re quite tight on your wrist may mean that you become sweatier or itchier than you want to be, particularly on a hot Florida day (i.e. all of them).

The slap bracelet MagicBands are priced between $24.99 and $29.99, depending on the style. They’re available wherever MagicBands are sold.

Are the modules as big as they look? I’d like a more streamlined size to use on my watch band.

Anyway I love these but I wonder if kids can resist not fidgeting with them constantly (or losing the module during the inevitable slap bracelet sword fights while waiting in line).

It looks fun, but pretty sure my daughter would play with it constantly, if past slap bracelets are any indication. It pretty much guarantees new bracelet will need to be purchased.
