6 Items We Spotted at Disney This Week, August 27, 2021 (An Outlet Tribute)
Normally, this is the article of the week where I’d show you items that we fell in love with at Walt Disney World. Well. . . . the items that started coming in this week seemed to indicate how much we miss the Outlet Report. Can’t say that we love them, but they certainly got our attention!
Gaping Mickey Pumpkin Candy Bowl
Conceptually, I like the idea of reaching in that bat-shaped mouth to grab candy. But how does the candy stay in the bowl? Why flannel-print-type ears? Is it the wisest thing to have kids reaching into a ceramic bowl in their eagerness to get candy? So many questions. . . but this was the best of the bunch.
Stoney Clover Lane Princess Bag
It got a lot of hype on social media, but our fans responded with a definite “Ick”. Princesses and bubblegum pink work great for a kid backpack. But at $218, that’s a pass from us.
Betsey Johnson Haunted Mansion Necklace
Another one of those “I’m sure there’s a market for it”, but this over-the-top Betsey Johnson necklace with a Haunted Mansion theme is a terrifying $100. I do have to wonder, if you are the kind of person who buys this, where do you wear it? It doesn’t seem practical for the theme parks, but I can’t imagine wearing it in the “real world”. . .
Popcorn Bucket Crocs
Confession, I’m a long-time wearer of Crocs. In fact, I’ve got a pair of Crocs flip flops on right now. But these — I just am not sure what they’re going for. Would you wear these in the park? Would you wear them around the house? Please don’t tell me you’d wear them out in public. . . or are they so cringe-worthy that they’re trendy?
Stitch Crashes Disney Collection
Whenever a Stitch Crashes Disney collection item comes out, I try to guess what the movie is before I look it up. My guess would have been “Cake Castle”, but that’s not a movie, and so I was wholly stumped. Once I gave in and looked it up, it all made sense. Pink — no Blue! A birthday cake with candles sliding away. And if you look closely on the print, you can see a spinning wheel. Yes, this is Disney’s idea of the Sleeping Beauty motif. It’s showing up as sold out online, so there must be a market for these. Are you a collector?
Boozy Chocolates at the UK
After putting you through that, do you need a drink? The one item we saw this week that we did love are the boozy chocolates available at the UK pavilion in EPCOT. These make a great gift to bring back for a wind-down dessert once you’re back in town or as a gift for someone who watched over things when you were gone.
Are any of these items ones you are likely to take home? Let us know in the comments.
The popcorn Crocs really caught my eye! I haven’t bought regular-style Crocs in years except for the black ones I keep to wear around the house, but the bright Mickey-motif around the heel and the absolutely adorable popcorn-filled Mickey thingie on top make these irresistible! I hope they’re still around when I get there in a few weeks. Now, would I wear them in public?… Um, I’m not sure!
“Items We Spotted This Week (An Outlet Tribute)” would make for a great weekly column!
I know my daughter would wear that necklace. Though it looks kind of heavy, so I’m not sure how often. My granddaughter would like those Crocs, particularly if they light up. We couldn’t find any kid-size Crocs while at the parks.
