Disney’s Animal Kingdom Nighttime Activity Dates Officially Announced
We’ve all know that the new nighttime events for Disney’s Animal Kingdom were debuting Memorial Day Weekend. That was pretty much the only information that Disney would give us though; no official dates for these events had been released. That is until today. I have a whole host of information for you to prepare your trek into Disney’s Animal Kingdom at night!
First and foremost, beginning in one week, on May 27, Guests will be able to experience Kilimanjaro Safaris at night, with the savanna basked in an eternal sunset. Also debuting on May 27 will the the Tree of Life Awakening, which will include different short projection shows on the Tree of Life that will occur at various times throughout the evening. In addition, Guests will be able to dance the night away with the Discovery Island Carnivale and experience the spectacle that is the Harambe Wildlife Parti.
Also debuting on May 27 will be the signature restaurant Tiffins, as well as the Nomad Lounge. The restaurant is situated near Pizzafari on Discovery Island and will feature African, Asian and South American flavors. Here is a look at the menu offerings that was shared today. I have to say, Tiffins has an intriguing menu, as does the Nomad Lounge.
Finally, on the following evening, May 28, Guests will be able to experience the new and temporary nighttime show called The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, which is inspired by the hit live-action film Disney’s The Jungle Book. The nighttime shows will feature memorable moments from the film, including the iconic Shere Khan, and will be filled with music and special effects that celebrate the movie and classic songs, infused with an Indian influence.
During the show, you will experience barges with singers, Indian musicians and colorful performers who have taken to the waters and enhance the tale with music and song—while fellow players join in from nearby river banks. The show will also feature light displays and massive water screens projecting imagery from the blockbuster film.
The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic takes place several times nightly, with each show lasting approximately 20 minutes.
Guests looking to experience the show will have the ability to book a special dining package which will begin May 28 at either Tiffins or at Tusker House Restaurant. At Tusker House Restaurant, you can choose from the breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet on the day of the show (but you have to dine at least 2 ½ hours before the show). The cost for the package will depend on the meal – breakfast is $37 for adults and $23 ages 3 to 9, plus tax and gratuity; lunch and dinner will cost $49 for adults and $30 ages 3 to 9, plus tax and gratuity.
At Tiffins, the package includes your choice of appetizer, entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage at either lunch or dinner. The Dining Package here will cost $67 for adults, $32 ages 3 to 9, plus tax and gratuity.
Reservations will open tomorrow, May 21 for Tiffins restaurant as well as Dining Packages for The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic nighttime show, and can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE. In addition, FastPass+ for Disney’s Animal Kingdom night experiences will also become available beginning tomorrow.
I am hoping Tiffins will take TIW (Tables in Wonderland). I have seen no mention of it one way or the other. I booked a reservation for this summer and a FP+ for The Jungle Book. I hope it all works out…with a discount. Wink.
When will the new Animal Kingdom park hour, for dates after labor day, be included in Touring Plans so that the night-time offerings can be included in our touring plan?
As soon as Disney changes the hours (which they certainly will do), we will add them to the site. Since this is the first time AK has had night activities, we don’t feel comfortable estimating the hours yet.
Are you anticipating Animal Kingdom having evening hours after Labor Day then? We are traveling 11/30-12/5 and Disney has the park closing at 5pm each day.
Will this package transition over to Rivers of Light when that opens up? By that, I mean, if I book this Jungle Book package for an early fall trip, will the show change but my reservation will remain the same? Has anyone heard any indication of this?
I just booked Tusker House package and it says NO DINING PLANS ACCEPTED. Just a heads up.
I called Disney and said dining package is accepted and that the web site is wrong
Super sweet. I hope you are right and will let you know in about 8 days!!! Yeah!!
What news of anticipated start date for Rivers of Light?
Will breakfast at Tiffins require 2 TS credits each as well?
I’ll just make sure to secure FPs for the show. AK doesn’t require using 4+FPs as strongly as the other parks.
Tiffins does not have a breakfast option. Only dinner. The only breakfast option for the dining package is for Tusker House.
AK hours have been updated to 11pm thru Labor Day.
No prices for the Kiffins menu, eh? Don’t want to frighten us?
