New!! More Characters with Not-So-Scary Treats!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially in full swing, and we’re delighted to report that there are some changes to the treat stops! A few of the 15 locations have some pretty spectacular character sightings! These aren’t the traditional character meet & greets like Jack & Sally at Town Square Theater – you won’t be able to pose with them and get the usual PhotoPass shot. They’re more like a “surprise & delight” sighting that you can probably catch in a selfie if you’re fast. These characters aren’t listed on the Party map, which just added to our joy when we happened upon them in our hunt for every Twix bar we could carry.

The Hitchhiking Ghosts were on stage at the Diamond Horseshoe treat stop in Liberty Square. It was such a neat moment to see other guests walk through the door with their treat bags only to spot this shimmering trio up on stage!! There were a lot of happy folks when we passed through.

Not only does the treat stop at Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Fantasyland have TWO treat spots again this year, it’s also where we saw Donald dressed as this precious pumpkin! Side note- if you need a break from the heat and humidity, have a rest inside the PhilharMagic theater. You can usually find a few little ones (and their adults) grabbing a nap as it gets late.

Fairytale Hall is home to another treat location and two character sightings! We found Maleficent and the Evil Queen as we walked through. They’ll stare and glare and generally make you let out an uncomfortable giggle as you shuffle along in the treat line. If you fail to hold eye contact as we did, you should be ready for a sassy comment or two. It’s delightful, and you get candy at the end!

Romeo McGrowl is keeping watch over the candy and crowds at the Country Bear Jamboree treat stop in Frontierland. He’ll wave, boogie, and generally be a gorgeous heartthrob as you weave through the line.

Since these aren’t announced character meets, the appearances aren’t guaranteed. We will be at the second Not-So-Scary of the season and will check back at these same locations to see if the stars have changed. Stay tuned for updates.
