Bus Restrictions Coming to Disney Springs June 28th
Disney has announced that beginning June 28, 2026, only guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or visiting one with a valid dining or experience reservation may access the resort buses.

What Does This Mean?
If the new process is handled as it has been in the past, it means that resort hopping will go on as usual. The primary group that will need to find a new plan will be the folks that park at Disney Springs to avoid paying for parking at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, or the TTC for the Magic Kingdom. Allegedly. We belong to the Snitches Get Stitches Association of Central Florida and Greater Youngstown, so we can’t say for sure.
This restriction was in place just a few months ago during the height of the Easter crowds. The picture above shows one of the checkpoints at a Disney Springs bus stop. At that time, the folks gathered under the umbrella were checking one MagicBand or My Disney Experience App per party to ensure guests had a current resort stay. They weren’t checking to make sure we got on the bus for the resort matching our reservation.
We aren’t sure if the rule will have different checks or restrictions, so we’ll test it out again on June 28th. We can’t imagine the verification falling to individual bus drivers. The process would be far too onerous for the Cast Members already tasked with loading and unloading scooters, and safely transporting guests as quickly as possible. Can you imagine the rucks?!?
How to Board a Resort Bound Bus Without a Resort Stay
Locals and folks without Disney Resort reservations can still board a resort-bound bus at Disney Springs with one of the following:
- A dining reservation at a resort location. This means you’ll need to have a table service dining reservation showing in your My Disney Experience app for the current day.
- An Enchanting Extra reservation. There are more than 70 Enchanting Extra activities and many of them are at the resorts. A few examples include horseback riding at Fort Wilderness, a Fireworks Cruise at the Contemporary, or a spa appointment at the Grand Floridian.
The Bright Side?
In the wise words of Len Testa, “That’s showbiz, baby!”, not to be confused with Jade Thirwall’s freshman album, That’s Showbiz Baby. Another case where the comma does the real work. The point is that Disney, allegedly, spotted a loophole and decided to lock it down. Maybe guest surveys were negatively impacted? Who’s to know. The good news is that folks paying enormous sums of money to stay in gorgeous rooms with beautifully adorned lobbies around the holidays may have shorter lines for things like gingerbread and bars.
What say you? Will this impact you at all? We’d love to hear what you think!

Can’t people still walk to SSR? Will the walkway be blocked?
Don’t forget about the boats to OKW/PO/SSR, they are also impacted by the new rule.
