If you have a daughter under the age of ten, chances are you’ve already seen The Descendants 3, and more likely you’ve seen it 400 or 500 times. Costumes representing the Descendants characters are sure to be the hot item this Halloween. We found these costumes in the shop at the exit to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in the Magic Kingdom, but they will be available in other locations and on shopDisney.com.

Costumes are $59.99, tiaras are $19.99, and wigs are $17.99.

  • Thank you for that information! My daughter is 4 so if we even just talk about it like turning her into Mal she’ll be all in. We already have the custome and she wears the vest everywhere. 😀 I made a mistake and thought we could make the Halloween party where she could see Descendants (which thankfully I never told her about beyond the fact she could wear her custume to Disney) so this will be a good Descendants alternative. Really appreciate your research. 🙂

  • I’d read elsewhere that they’re doing Descendants makeovers at the Pirates League. Any info on that? I have a little one who talks about being Mal day in and day out. Thanks!

    • As soon as I saw your comment, I mentioned this to our on-site report at WDW, Christina Harrison, who also has a Descendants-obsessed child. Christina immediately called her contact at the Pirates League who said, “They don’t have a Descendants package but you can buy the outfits and wigs in the store next door and get the Scurry package for $24.95+ tax. I asked what the benefit would be over just doing plain face paint and she said you get the face gem and the experience. None of the descendants carry a sword except the pirate kid (jack sparrows son?) and he doesn’t have a special leather outfit.” Christina’s personal follow-up was, “Having seen their makeup skills, I’d say it’s worth the extra $5 to have the experience.”

      • Just out of curiosity, have they now added (since your last update) the Descendants makeovers as options on paper anywhere? Someone told me yesterday when they had visited Pirates League recently there was a sheet that had photos on it of Descendants offerings. I already booked my (Descendants obsessed) daughter for BBB but would love a pic of the Descendants makeovers so I could show her and see what she prefers before we go!

      • When I was at the Magic Kingdom last week, they did have a rack of Descendants costumes out in front of the Pirates League (not the BBB). I’ll have our parks reporter Christina take a look for photos next time she’s there. Stay tuned.

      • Thank you so much, very appreciated!!

      • Hi there, Christina went to the Pirates League yesterday and had a nice long chat with cast members there. All this info is from Christina:

There is a menu for for Descendants makeovers, but would not allow here to photograph it because it’s not officially Disney-approved yet. They said that the Descendants got popular more quickly than anticipated and they’re still gearing up for the volume. There is a Descendants makeover that costs $104.89 that includes the costume and makeup but not the crown and wig. That’s $104.94 plus you can use your AP for the costume at the merch location near Pirates of the Caribbean. So value wise, makes more sense to just do the costume separately and get the makeup only package. The costumes inside the PL and outside in the PotC shop are exactly the same for now. They’re working on unique Descendants costumes and literature for the Pirates League.

That’s what we know right now. Hope it helps.

      • That’s awesome information! Thank you so much for updating, I really do appreciate it!!!
