Recently, Disney introduced the idea of Early Morning Magic at the Magic Kingdom. Well it seems that the concept was a good idea, so they are now rolling the idea over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This special event allows Guests to enter the theme park early in the morning before the park opens officially for Guests for the day and allows for the ability to ride attractions that commonly have long waits, as well as enjoy a great in-park breakfast.

During the event, Guests are able to experience Toy Story Mania!, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and meet favorite characters such as Buzz and Woody at Pixar Place, Mickey and Minnie at Red Carpet Dreams, and Olaf at the Celebrity Spotlight.

Plus, in addition to getting in some some early morning fun, Guests will also be able to enjoy a fantastic breakfast at ABC Commissary. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Menu items will include:

  • Assorted chilled fruit juices
  • Sliced seasonal fruit and berries
  • A variety of freshly baked breakfast pastries, served with butter, preserves and marmalade
  • Fluffy scrambled eggs
  • Spinach and mushroom frittata
  • Bacon and pork sausage
  • Cheesy potatoes
  • Puffed French toast with butter & syrup
  • Muesli with assorted toppings
  • Coffee, decaf, milk, chocolate milk and a selection of teas

Due to its extra ticketed status, entry will be limited. In addition to the ticket for the event, Guests must have regular theme park admission. The cost is $69 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $59 per child (ages 3 through 9) plus tax.

Disney Early Morning Magic will take place on select Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Official check-in will take place near the far-left turnstiles of the Main Entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning at 7:45 a.m. Guests will receive a wristband for identification upon check-in.

Do keep in mind that Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open at 9:00 a.m. to Guests with regular theme park admission and access to the event-only attractions will end.

Disney Early Morning Magic is scheduled to begin on August 1 and run through the end of Septebmer.

  • Oh no!! My Mickey agent said they didn’t think it would make a huge difference. But now I’m worried. So I should switch my days?!?!

  • I accidentally planned my park days that have theses early morning for 3 out 4 park days? Should these be avoided? I am going with a 4 and 2 year old. My plan is park at opening nap around 2 at hotel and return in the evening.

    • Should they be avoided? LIKE THE PLAGUE!

  • Reading posts like this make surfing such a plruease

  • I don’t like it. I feel like it is discouraging to those staying on site. EMH was supposed to be a reward for paying high prices and staying on site at WDW, now anyone can stay off site and pay the extra money to get in a few hours earlier than all others. To me this is Disney wanting to make more money, as if prices aren’t high enough. I think it is just a matter of time before they price us all out of Disney Trips.

    • It’s possible that price increases have already started the backlash. The past 2 weeks saw a dramatic drop in numbers compared to past years. The weeks around July 4th *used* to be some of the busiest weeks.
I realize Disney wanted to spread the crowds, but I don’t think they figured the impact would be this great. The vast majority of guests do not have an unlimited budget, so they’ll just plan accordingly to avoid over-paying.

      • Orlando’s latest news stories may have been a bigger factor than anything Disney did directly. Time will tell.

  • Any idea if you will be able to sign up for the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple during the Extra Morning Magic?

    • Pretty sure it’ll at least get you a coveted spot at the front of the line alongside people who finish their pre-opening ADRs at Hollywood & Vine early enough.

Disney no doubt realized parents with Jedi children will pay for HS EMM to ensure training at the academy, kinda making it worth the cost. For people not interested in JTA, this seems an awful value.

  • I thought it was great when I went at mk, but they did not let us in until 7:55. That was very annoying , every minute counts when you only have an hour and 15 min before the park opens.

  • I guess if I you want to have every attraction at DHS done by 10am, without using any fast passes. 7:45-9, TSM and Star Tours and breakfast. Done with Rock coaster by 9:15, done with Tower of Terror by 9:40, finishing Great Movie Ride by 10. Entire park done.

    • Where attraction=ride only.

  • Honestly, I like this even less as an idea than the evenings. You get only one exclusive hour, and then the second hour when you overlap with the normal guests, would be the “opening” hour that would be the next best hour for wait times during the day, so it would be inefficient to spend that time getting your money’s worth of breakfast. Also, since you have to have a day ticket for this, I can’t think of a useful scenario, like with the Disney After Hours where you might use it on travel day to get the most of your trip without buying an extra admission. And I say this as someone who loves Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Midway Mania.

  • But there’s preserves AND marmalade! 😉

  • Will this be the first time there has ever been anything “fantastic” at the Commissary?

  • This is for parents of kids who love Olaf more than life itself. That’s it.

  • Disney has obviously done its diligence and determined enough people want this. Not for me at all, but if it’s for you, enjoy.

  • Why? DHS is the worst place to do this! You can see everything DHS has to offer in that 75 minutes with the short lines, if there are any lines at all in this half-day park. Wouldn’t it make more sense to do this at AK or EPCOT?
