Disney Springs to Reopen on May 20

For those of you who are itching to get back into a small piece of the Disney bubble, I bring good news. Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort will reopen beginning in phases on May 20. Following the guidance of government and health officials in response concerns about the coronavirus, the shopping and dining district will begin to reopen with a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating participants during this initial phase.

The health of guests and Disney Cast Members are the most important thing, so several operational changes are going to be made with the reopening of Disney Springs. These changes will incorporate enhanced safety measures, including increased cleaning procedures, the use of appropriate face coverings by both Cast Members and Guests, limited-contact guest services and additional safety training for Cast Members.

During the initial opening phase, Disney Springs will have limitations on capacity, parking and operating hours. Additional procedures may be announced closer to the opening date. We’ll be sure to share those details with you here.

Keep in mind that while Disney Springs may be reopening on May 20, the remainder of the Walt Disney World Resort including theme parks and resort hotels will remain closed.
