Disneyland Crowd Calendar Update For Summer 2022

Wait times at Disneyland Resort are up – way up!

Since June 1, Disneyland Park has seen crowds levels hit a ‘9’ or ’10’ on our scale 15 out of 24 days. Disney California Adventure is similar, with 9 days reaching a ‘9’ or above. Summer ticket promotions for California Residents seem to be a major cause of the increased crowds.

Summer promotions are not a new thing, they are offered every year. Last summer a similar promotion was offered but the parks never hit a level ’10’ during the month of June. This summer more Californians are purchasing the tickets than usual. This is driving up attendance, especially during the week. It isn’t just the summer promotion however. Travel to California in general is up – way up, in fact. So, it is time for a Disneyland Crowd Calendar update.

This update brings increases across the board, especially between now and the end of September. You can expect Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to be at a level ‘7’ or above nearly every day. If the parks don’t hit that level it is usually because of poor weather.

If you plan to visit the Disneyland parks this summer an optimized touring plan will be essential. Another great tip is to learn all about Genie+ at Disneyland from Becky’s great article here.

We recognize that when our crowd level predictions go up it is frustrating for guests who planned a trip based on lower crowd levels. Our philosophy is to provide the most accurate, up-to-date crowd level predictions we can based on all the available information. If our previous predictions look too low we want you know now rather than finding out on day 1 of your trip. Hopefully this allows you to prepare for the new increased crowds either by adjusting your touring strategy or changing your dates. The good news is that the single best way to beat the crowds at Disneyland Resort is to use an optimal touring plan. They work! The higher the crowd level the more time in line your touring plan will save. Use one and beat the crowds, no matter the level.

  • Wow these numbers sure make it hard to find a sweet spot for a trip. I honestly don’t know how to get a decent touring plan combined with the on-the-fly genie+ method. Why on earth do we still need park reservations when the numbers are this high? Oh well, I’ll just enjoy my happy memories of anytime park hopping and Maxpass. Thanks for giving us the straight poop.
