Here’s what’s coming up in February at the Disneyland Resort:

February 6, 2011: Super Bowl Sunday
The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers on February 6, 2011, at 6:30pm ET. Crowds in the parks will not be greatly affected, but those who want to watch the game while on vacation have a few options. First, there’s always the option to watch the game in your hotel room (not the most exciting plan, but you’ll have great seats). ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney is a great place to see the game but it will get very crowded early. Nearby options within walking distance include Tony Roma’s just across the street on Harbor Boulevard, and Bar Louie at Anaheim Garden Walk on Katella Avenue. Remember, this is one of the biggest sports days of the year and it is important to show up early wherever you choose to enjoy the game.

February 14, 2011: Valentine’s Day
As with Super Bowl Sunday, Valentine’s Day will not have a huge impact on crowd levels, but those wishing to celebrate will need to plan ahead. For a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland suggests several wonderful restaurants that set the perfect mood. In the parks, some suggestions are Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans, both at Disneyland Park, and Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure. Outside of the parks, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney, Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel, and Napa Rose at the Grand Californian all have great food and are couple-friendly. Just make sure to book early!

February 19-21: President’s Day Weekend
President’s Day weekend is one of the busiest times of the year at Disneyland. The entire weekend, as well as the following week, the Crowd Calendar is predicting 8′s and 10′s. Be prepared! Use the Crowd Calendar to get forecasted wait times during the day, plan to be at the turnstiles at least 45 minutes before park opening, and take advantage of the Touring Plans. Passholders, be sure to check the blackout dates before deciding to go.

Family Fun Weekends
In January, Disneyland introduced Family Fun Weekends, running from 10am to 5pm every Friday through Sunday through Marc 6th. The festivities include food, special merchandise, music, dancing, and themed meet & greets with characters.

February 4-6 and 11-13: Lunar New Year Festival
These weekends will celebrate the Lunar New Year and explore the traditions of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese celebrations for the new year. These events will be held in Festival Arena in Frontierland.

February 18-20 and 25-27: Mardi Gras
These weekends will portray a lively, New Orleans style Mardi Gras festival with jazz music and delicious food with appearances by Princess Tiana and other Disney characters. These events will be held in New Orleans Square.

New This Month: The Magic, The Memories, and You!
The Magic, The Memories, and You! is part of the 2011 Let the Memories Begin campaign. It is a 10 minute show that includes a projection onto the facade of it’s a small world featuring photos and videos of guests. These photos will be both taken in the parks that day by Disney’s PhotoPass photographers, as well as other photos and videos sent in by guests for the campaign.

  • Another excellent post. Thank you.

I never would have thought they’d also be showing ‘The Magic, The Memories, and You!’ in DL. Do you know if it is also video mapped to IASW there?

The Family Fun weekends also sound Awesome…
