Eleven+ Things We Drank on the Disney Wish

Disney Cruise Line has stepped up its drinks game on the Disney Wish, with fun and interesting libations available around every corner. To give you idea of what’s available are ten things we had to drink on the Wish.

1. The Sweet Nightingale at Nightingales’s, Deck 3 midship

The Sweet Nightingale is Hendricks Amazonia, passion fruit, rosemary, and mint, served in a darling bird-shaped sipper.

2. The Butterfly at Nightingale’s, Deck 3 midship

The Butterfly is Bombay Sapphire gin, butterfly pea tea, and citrus juice. This drink is on the “smoke bubbles” portion of the menu. The bubble is a momentary topping of the drink by a bubble gun. It’s pretty, but the effect only lasts for a second or two.

3. Frozen Fractals at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, Deck 5 aft

The Frozen Fractals is Ciroc, peach puree, and Moët & Chandon Ice. Find it at the Arendelle dining room.

4. Absinthe Frappé at The Bayou, Deck 3 midship

The Absinthe Frappé is Pernod Absinthe, Anisette, and Abita vanilla cream soda. (The Frappé is toasting with a glass of champagne.)

5. Infinity Swirl at Currents, Deck 14 Forward

The Infinity Swirl is SelvaRey White rum layered with strawberry puree, Dole Whip, Dos Maderas 5+5 rum, and Pina Colada mix.

6. Esperesso Martini at Nightingale’s, Deck 3 midship and Pina Colada at Luna’s Libations, Deck 4 midship

These are off menu items – a reminder that although each of the onboard bars has a menu of signature cocktails and specially crafted drinks, they are still just regular bars, stocked with the full complement of spirits and mixers. In addition to the fanciful creations, you can just order a rum & Coke, a gin & tonic, a Cosmo, or any other of your usual favorite drinks.

7. Bloody Mary at The Bayou, Deck 3 midship

They Bayou bar is open during the morning with a different menu than the one place during the afternoon and evening hours. The morning offerings include mimosas and Bloody Marys, both made to order from dedicated carts. You can ask the bartender to customize your drink with spices from the Bloody Mary cart or with fresh squeezed juices from the mimosa cart.

8. The Golden One and the Spire Sunset from Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, Deck 3 midship

The Spire Sunset (grown on the sides of the planet Batuu’s petrified spires) is Saigon Bagiur gin with kumquat, lychee, and coconut. The Golden One (a mix of herbs and berries from the forest moon of Endor) is Belvedere blackberry & lemongrass vodka and Amaretto Velvet. The Golden One is topped with a secret insignia that only appears under black light.

9. Old Fashioned Glogg at Keg & Compass, Deck 5 forward

Old Fashioned Glogg is port, bourbon, and “Viking spices.” The veg in the drink is a slice of dried, spiced pineapple which is •chef’s kiss• delish!

10. The Sweet Rose and the Mrs. Tea at the Rose, Deck 12 aft

The Sweet Rose is Empress 1908 gin, Cointreau, and grapefruit juice. The Mrs. Tea is SelvaRey White rum, Belvedere Pear & Ginger vodka, Pique passion fruit green tea, and Moët Imperial Rosé. The Mrs. Tea presentation is lovely – the rum, vodka, and tea are poured into a teacup from a glass teapot, then the server pours about half of a mini bottle of champagne over the liquor blend. You can add more of the champagne to the tea cup as you sip down the drink, or you can take the rest of the bottle with you as a “to go” beverage.

11. Latte and Matcha Latte at Marceline Market Cafe, Deck 11 aft

Many of the bars on the Wish are equipped with the ability to make fancy coffees and related drinks as well as cocktails. Ask for your hot beverage to be stamped with a Disney character.

Of the items pictured here my least favorite were the Butterfly, which was just too strong, and the Absinthe Frappé which was probably yummy if you like Absinthe. I was new to this spirit and found the licorice taste to be overwhelming.

The Nightingale and the Mrs. Tea were both yum and win bonus points for presentation. The Golden One was also tasty and had a fun presentation, but in this context it just made us want more interactive elements for the other Hyperspace drinks.
