Frozen Ever After Reopens with Changes
Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavilion of EPCOT has reopened with some great changes! Every mom’s favorite stage (me included) closed on January 26th of this year and reopened yesterday, February 11, 2026 with some new features. We took a ride through Arendelle to scope out the updates. Check out the reel on our Instagram for a side-by-side video when you’re done here!

Don’t worry fellow songbirds, the music is still the same and so is the timing. As you can see from the stills above, Elsa received an updated gown along with new animatronics to replace the facial projections we’ve become accustomed to over the last 10 years since this ride opened. Her hair is still modeled after the original Frozen movie – which makes sense because that’s where the scene is from – but the makeup is a bit darker and more in line with Frozen 2.

The closing “In Summer” scene had one of the most interesting updates. The facial improvements are fantastic and both queens were right on cue with the music-to-movement synched with gentle physical flow. This scene is even more precious than it has been for the last 10 years. It’s interesting to take a second to analyze the costume changes here. More specifically, Anna’s wardrobe updates. In the old version, she was kitted out with a sheer fichu that has now been replaced with a more sturdy yellow shift. The skirt of her gown is less voluminous which signals maturity. (Stay with me here. We all have hobbies that keep us away from the real life fires raging around us for a few seconds a day and this is mine.) The cascading flowers in Anna’s old basket were more romantic and fragile. The new flowers look to be sunflowers and marigolds – both flowers that traditionally represent devotion. Who in Arendelle has been more devoted than Anna?!? Is Disney sending us a signal for new Frozen IP that is more sequel leaning? One can only hope. Time to start brushing up on our Lost in the Woods and Into the Unknown chords, fellow songbirds!
