Making Glass Gingerbread Cookies in the Germany Pavilion
Glaskunst, the glass art kiosk in the Germany pavilion of EPCOT, has a “Decorate Your Own” Glass Gingerbread Cookie experience & we stopped by to give it a try.

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Pick your glass gingerbread cookie to decorate. There are three options to choose from:
- Tree ornament
- Heart ornament
- Mickey ear gingerbread
Each ornament is the same price, $39.00 before tax and discounts.

Step 2: Pick your toppings.
There are 8 glass charms to pick from. Each glass gingerbread cookie comes with your choice of 4 charms. Additional charms are $5 each.
Step 3: Decorate your cookie.

Take your time placing your charms exactly where you’d like. When you’re done, alert an attending Cast Member and they will secure each charm with a little glue to make sure they don’t move when being transferred to be cured.
Step 4: Decide on optional etching and string for your ornament.

Each cookie can have up to 4 lines of text etched in one of three fonts for an additional $6.99. The three fonts are: Bavarian, Times New Roman, and Script. The possible string options are green, white, or red ribbon, and jute. The gingerbread cookie does not have a hole to make it into an ornament.
Step 5: Wait for your charms to be fused to your cookie.

Once your charms are cured, the ornament will be safe to ship or pack for the trip home.
Step 6: Wait for your cookie text to be etched. The whole process of fusing the charms and having the etching done took 16 minutes!

Glaskunst has a new engraving machine onsite that can etch your text while you wait!

Adorable but … not cheap! It looks like a lovely keepsake though.
