May the 4th… and a Giveaway!
Have you considered heading to Hollywood Studios for May the 4th but aren’t sure if it’s for you? We spent today capturing the May the 4th fun so you could see what it’s all about. In this post, we will cover:
- May the 4th crowds
- May the 4th merch, lines, and virtual queue
- Wait times
- Specialty food and bev
- Giveaway! We’re giving away a C-3PO Popcorn Bucket & Green Lightsaber Swizzle Stick!

Early Entry was 8:00am today, and the park opened for all visitors at 8:30am. A huge line formed almost immediately at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Galaxy’s Edge for the comic sets that were released today. There has never been a virtual queue for Dok-Ondar’s, but there is always one for the general May the 4th merch. The queue opened before 7:00am and groups started being called shortly after opening.

In order to join the virtual queue for May the 4th merchandise, we had to be logged in to the My Disney Experience app.
- Select the hamburger menu at the bottom right of your MDE app
- Click on “Virtual Queue” as shown in the upper left of the image above
- Select Hollywood Studios, and click “Join Queue”
- Monitor your queue progress on the app until you’re called to shop
- Show your entry code to be admitted to the line
- Prepare to wait
The merch location was at Vacation Fun near the Frozen Sing-along. Although Vacation Fun is closed until “later this year”, it was the only option since the old spot was in the Muppets Courtyard.
Our group (27) was called at 11:38am and the 60 minute timer for us to get in line started then. Your code is only valid for 60 minutes. This doesn’t mean you have to be in the shop within that hour, it means you have to check-in and have a Cast Member scan your code before your 60 minute window is closed.

We waited 33 minutes to be able to enter the very small, very crowded store to shop for May the 4th exclusive merchandise.

The picture above, left, shows the store, and the image on the right is the theme that was on most of the shirts, hats, mugs, etc.

Food lines were more orderly and organized this year than we’ve seen in years past. Above is a capture of the Mobile Order times as of 12:33pm today. Woody’s Lunch Box always has a long line, but not typically a 2 hour wait for Mobile Order! Side note, walking up to order at Woody’s is a shorter wait than 128 minutes, but it’s still really, really long. You know it’s a crowded day in Hollywood Studios when Ronto Roasters, arguably the single best, most efficient kitchen in the park, is almost an hour wait for Mobile Order.

Since May the 4th fell on a Monday this year, we expected the longest wait times in the afternoon. Below are a few of the higher wait times we observed today:
- Rise of the Resistance
- 90 minute posted wait at 3:54pm
- 75 minute posted wait at 4:51pm
- 90 minute posted wait at 5:57pm
- 65 minute posted wait at 7:00pm
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- 30 minute posted wait at 4:00pm
- 55 minute posted wait at 5:00pm
- 60 minute posted wait at 6:00pm
- 25 minute posted wait at 7:02pm
- Slinky Dog Dash
- 85 minute posted wait at 4:00pm
- 70 minute posted wait at 5:02pm
- 70 minute posted wait at 6:03pm
- 80 minute posted wait at 7:00pm
Rise of the Resistance had some downtime today and has been offline since around 7:40pm.
Specialty Food and Bev

Ettel Nuts, $6.29
Assortment of Sweet, Spicy, and Queso Fundido Nuts with Chocolate Candy Rocks.
This was a very big hit around Batuu today! We were impressed with the taste, serving size and presentation. We’d recommend this snack over lightsaber churros any day.

Your Chosen Path Cupcake, $6.79
Cookies and Cream Cupcake, Marshmallow Buttercream, White Chocolate X-Wing, and Milk Chocolate Rocks.. inside the Cupcake, a secret Lightsaber color will reveal itself!
Sure, we were revealed to be on the Dark Side, but that’s not really the shocker here. The real news is that this cupcake was 9/10! How long has it been since we’ve raved over a cupcake? Not sure, but this one is pretty darn great. Available through May 31st.
Sith Lord Libation, $14.99
Blood Orange with White Cranberry and Lime Juices. Served with a red rechargeable Lightsaber Swizzle Stick.
Sweet and citrus, this one tasted like a morning beverage. Available through May 31st. The alcoholic version has Absolut Citron Vodka for $26.00
Chosen One Cooler, $14.99
Granny Smith Apple, with White Cranberry and Lime Juices. Served with a green rechargeable Lightsaber Swizzle Stick.
A little more tart than the Sith Lord, but still tasty. Available through May 31st. The alcoholic version has Absolut Citron Vodka for $26.00
