Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. Outlet Intern Julia Mascardo and I came across a lot of neat things this month including Bambi merchandise, a whole bunch of Tsum Tsums, and several Star Wars pieces that are next level bananas.

Disney puts out a ton of themed salt and pepper shakers for a niche community I would love to watch a documentary on, but some of the shaker sets are actually pretty neat.  Over the past few years, while at the resorts and Disney Springs, I have seen a neat Skyway set, another featuring Mickey and Minnie in a car, and this one which spotlights the Mad Tea Party ride. Not sure of the original price of these (I believe they were $19.95) but they have been reduced to $9.99. Had to pick up one of these.

This set featuring an old timey artwork of Disneyland’s castle and a Tomorrowland rocket. The backs of each were blank. This set was reduced to only $5.99, but I passed on this. One thing that was interesting was at the bottom of the package it says “Not microwave or dishwasher safe.” WHO PUTS THEIR SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS IN THE MICROWAVE?!!

Lots of Tsum Tsums this month including this awesome Haunted Mansion set. It features the Hitchhiking Ghosts, Madame Leota, the Bride, and the Viking Opera Singer (how’s that for a deep dive.) Tsums are still 99 cents at the Outlet.

This was a surprise, a Carrousel Horse from the Fantasyland set. Knocking on wood for a Mr. Toad or iasw Tsums in the coming months.

Here’s an Jafar in his evil Genie persona from Aladdin. PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER…itty bitty living space.

This Pirate with Hook Hand I think completes the Pirates of the Caribbean set which started making its way to the Outlets a while ago. If you look to the far left of the picture you’ll see the side of the Tsum with the “hook.”

Captain Phasma from the Star Wars Force Awakens line. Earlier this month I did some Burgan Fine Art featuring Famous Theme Park Bloggers as an incentive to get people to vote for my Twitter friend Howie’s son in a contest. Unfortunately the little guy lost (never good to have your campaign resting in the hands of Florida voters) but I picked up an extra Capt. Phasma for him as a consolation prize.

Here is Greedo and a Tusken Raider from a Star Wars line.

Speaking of Tusken Raiders…. last year I was in Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs and saw these large rubber weapons from Star Wars. One was a Gamorrean Guard axe, and the other was a Tusken Raider gaffi stick. These were $19.99 each and absolutely bonkers. Now granted, a 10 year old Derek would have killed for these, but that was a long, long time ago. Why would anyone buy these now?

Turns out, no one did. They arrived at the Outlets for just $1.99 each.

Just yesterday, selected media (ie: not me) were invited to check out Pandora. Turns out Disney made more oversized rubber weapons for the World of Avatar, so we’ll probably be seeing those sooner or later at the Outlets as well.

Okay, our next item is a pair of Star Wars shoes that originally cost $159, reduced to $9.99. At that price, I had to buy a pair. Keep in mind, these were women’s shoes. I’m not even sure what my girlfriend’s shoe size is, but that doesn’t matter because she would never wear them anyway.

Is this crazy or what? Look at the tissue paper the shoes comes wrapped in. It’s like if Tijuana Flats and Star Wars had a baby.

I took a picture of the side of the box because I wanted to show the “photo” of the shoe that is printed on the box. This picture is the equivalent of a VHS taped that was dubbed over a dozen times. WHO IS IT FOR?!!! Who does it help? This question literally keeps me up at night.

A couple months ago I wrote about this Star Wars wallet showing up at the Outlets and this month I bought it ($25). What I didn’t notice last time was this was a DISNEY CRUISE LINE Star Wars wallet.

If you look at the bottom right of the wallet you can see the DCL logo. I’ve decided to make this my “theme park wallet” and take it whenever I go to Orlando.

If you remember last month I bought the Metal Earth Star Wars kit that put me on suicide watch. This month a super neat Imperial Star Destroyer Kit that – again – 10 year old me would have done anything for back in the day. The Metal Earth kit was for ages “14+” and this was for “8+” so we’re getting close to the age bracket where I can actually put them together. It was reduced to $19.99.

LOVE these Star Wars/Disneyland attraction poster mashups, but it’s probably been a decade or more since I put together a jigsaw puzzle. Originally $19.99, now $5.99.

Amazing Rogue One AT-AT toy. Comes with several figures. This was reduced to $149.99. Yikes.

A ton of Rogue One figures arrived at the Outlets including these large ones featuring Krennic and  Jyn Erso. Originally $39.99, now $19.99.

The smaller figures were reduced to $12.99. Better hurry, they are going fast….

Ever want  a heart shaped necklace with the Star Wars logo on it? Well I have good news for you. Now it’s only $5.99.

Some Star Wars shirts for the ladies. Both were originally $39.99 and reduced to $14.99.

Death Star luggage. This is probably one of the most impractical ways to travel. Originally $44.99, now $19.99.

I bought this cute Bambi set for the next time we need to get a gift for a baby shower. Originally $39.99, now $19.99.

Speaking of cute Bambi items, my prayers were answered and the awesome Bambi Christmas ornaments that came out last year have made it to the Outlets. Got the whole set. Love them. Originally $16.99, now just $4.99. Hope others from this Storybook Plush line make it the Outlets including Chip and Dale, the three brothers from Brave, and Robin Hood. KNOCK ON WOOD>

This Bambi kitchenware item is apparently a creamer. I think the cream is poured through Bambi’s mouth? No, that’s not weird at all. Why do you ask? It was originally $19.99, reduced to $9.99.

This one features Thumper. Originally $19.95, now $9.99.

Okay, time for a bunch of neat postcards. All were reduced to $1.99 each. First up is a great one featuring the Country Bear Jamboree.

Another good one using the Mad Tea Party attraction.

Rare Big Hero 6 item. For some reason this movie doesn’t seem to get as much retail support as others.

As a comic book fan I loved seeing this reproduction of Ant-Man #1 from 1979. The artist is John Byrne, who I have always enjoyed (although he has seem to gone a bit crazy in more recent years.)

Speaking of comic legends, this cover to Black Panther # 7 was done by none other than Jack Kirby.

This Captain America and Falcon print was originally $39.95, reduced to $19.99.

This little flower ring had a band that would stretch over whatever finger you wanted to put it on. Was reduced to $1.99. I think most likely it was originally found in that long stretch of knick knacks you can buy while waiting in line to check out in the World of Disney in Disney Springs.

Small Mickey Mouse mirror. Originally $9.95, now $2.99. As you can see, like vampires, bloggers do not appear in mirrors. We also don’t really like the daylight either. Although instead of drinking blood, we survive on E-Ticket milkshakes.

Here is the Minnie Mouse version.

This was a Mickey Mouse silhouette rubber keychain. After I get my documentary on people who collect themed salt and pepper shakers, I want one on people who buy keychains like this. Then we’ll complete the trilogy with the people who put up Halloween trees. This was reduced to $2.99.

2016/2017 Calendars were reduced to just 99 cents.

Wait a second, the Main Street Electrical Parade in WDW? Too soon Disney, too soon.

These 2016 magnets are also a “clip” and can hold things.

These magnets feature Disney character themed high heel shoes.

I actually bought this mini chalkboard magnet. Back in December I bought the FULL SIZE version, so this makes a nice companion piece. This was reduced to $3.99.  You’ll notice on a lot of things I don’t have an “Original” price. That’s because the tag on the item is either a color, or simply doesn’t have a price at all.

Sometimes you don’t believe things until you actually see them with your own eyes. I had heard Disney was selling parade cushions, but I’ve never actually seen one in person. Low and behold several arrive at the Outlet for $1.99 a pop. It is unknown whether these seats went to the Outlet directly after a woman was arrested in the Magic Kingdom for choking a teen who wouldn’t sit down during Wishes, but the timing is convenient.

More Cars toys arrived including this Fast & Furious-like character Wingo from the original film. Originally $7.99, now $4.99.

Here is a “rip n release” playset with an oddly colored Lightning McQueen (maybe it’s from Cars 2, I’ve tried to burn that one from my memory.) Originally $19.95, now $12.99.

I really enjoyed these next two Cars playsets. Each comes with a couple cars and some accessories, all in a convenient carrying case. Originally $24.99, now $12.99. I think these were Cars Land merchandise out in Anaheim.

Let’s take a look at some princess shirts. First up is Belle. These were all originally $29.99, now $12.99.

Rare piece of Elena of Avalor merchandise. Same price as the other princess shirtss.

This Pirates of the Caribbean hoodie was originally $39.95, now $19.99. Disney should just make a ton of shirts that say “I saw Johnny Depp in the Pirates ride at Disneyland!” and sell them for $20 a pop.

Need a Pirates of the Caribbean scarf? This one can be yours for just $9.99 (originally $21.95.)

The only new Vinylmation on this trip was this one featuring runDisney Mickey. Originally $14.95, now $3.99.

Last month I got neat Colorforms-like sticker set featuring Disneyland attractions, and this month another set arrived themed to Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. These are fun some I got them for the kiddos. Originally $9.95, now $3.99.

I’m not a big fan of this Alice in Wonderland cup but at least it’s not the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version. Originally $19.95, now $8.99.

I just had to say something, didn’t I?

Take a look at this. Originally $32.95, now $9.99. Most of the specialty MagicBands get special lights or sound effects at the FP+ readers but I think when you scan this one it loudly yells, “HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!”

This Finding Dory case was originally $29.95, now $7.99.

This looks like something you would have found if Prince ever had a yard sale while he was alive. It’s a kid’s outfit for The Descendants movie. Originally $54.99, now $29.99.

Here’s another one. Same price. I think The Descendants 2 is going to be on the Disney Channel soon. The first fell into the so bad it’s good camp – especially with the nonsensical and completely bonkers Be Our Guest song – so I’ll have to check out the sequel.

Shellie May Christmas outfit. Reduced to $4.99.

Here is a Countdown to Christmas Calendar which has small pieces of chocolate behind each window. Originally $14.49, now just $1.99. I’ve been asked by readers if I actually eat the food which I report on here, much of which is months past when it should have been bought and consumed. ARE YOU CRAZY? There is no chance I would eat something which was probably made a year earlier and then sat on Florida shelves for months before finally ending up at the Outlets. Eating something like that would be incomprehensible.

I give it to the kids.

Time for nightmare fuel. The Disney High Heel ornament collection continues with this one featuring Edna Mode from The Incredibles. I can’t believe I just typed that sentence. This one may actually be weirder than the Roz from Monsters Inc one a while back. Originally $19.95, now $4.99.

Who is the person that has to come up with an Edma Mode signature just so it can be on the bottom of these shoes? Do they have to come up with like a dozen different styles and a group votes on which one is best? How many layers of people did this shoe have to go through from original idea to production to driving me crazy?

Speaking of ornaments, here is one featuring the three great American sports and soccer. Originally $16.99, now $3.99.

This LEN TESTA variant is only for those kids who were extra good this year. Or it can be used in lieu of coal for those who were bad.

There are actually two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. Both are in Orlando Premium Outlet shopping complexes, and they are called Disney’s Character Warehouse, presumably because The Land Of Misfit Toys was already trademarked. There is one Character Warehouse located on International Drive close to Universal Studios (4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819), and the other is on Vineland Avenue, right across I-4 near the exits to Disney World (8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821).
