New! Day-of Lightning Lane Return Times

Len & team have added Lightning Lane return time charts to our website for Walt Disney World and Disneyland. We’ll look at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin the Magic Kingdom for our example.

The new charts show:

  • What your return time will be if you obtain a Lightning Lane at a specific time of day
  • The odds that all Lightning Lanes return times / slots will be gone at a specific time of day.

Here is how to access this information:

  • Head to the attraction page on our website
  • Scroll down until you see the Hourly View and Lightning Lane Return Times section as shown above
  • Select your date. We’re looking at June 10th for this example, but you can select the day you’re after using the calendar to scroll

The image above shows typical day-of Lightning Lane return times, filterable by crowd levels. The dropdown on the upper right of the screen allows you to select the threshold at which Lightning Lanes are gone. Different users have different “risk” thresholds. This means you can look to see when Lightning Lanes run out based on your own preferences.

There is also a chart for “21-to-1 day in advance” distribution trends with the same dropdown option. Note that the data markers on the chart below change from circles to x’s when the odds of Lightning Lanes being gone exceeds the percentage you selected in the dropdown chart on the upper right of the screen.

The chart above reflects the 50% threshold we selected.

What do you think of these changes? Do you think this will make your trip planning easier?

  • It doesn’t appear like the Disneyland versions are working. When trying to highlight times or click, there’s no info, and all of the charts seem identical and generic, unlike on Buzz in WDW.

      • Alison – I’ve uploaded the corrected data to the site. Give the site a couple of hours to recognize the new data and refresh the charts. Thanks again for pointing this out!
