New Details About What to Expect With Pixar Pier
The refurbishment work changing Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure is getting even more fun! Today, we learned about quite a few new aspects to this land, and I have to admit, they sound kind of intriguing, including a new ride announcement, as well as four new dining establishments.
First will be a change for King Triton’s Carousel. The concept art for Pixar Pier showed Jessie from Toy Story outside the attraction, so we knew that there would be some sort of Toy Story theme connected to it. It was announced that this attraction will become Jessie’s Critter Carousel and it will feature 56 adorable wilderness creatures inspired by Jessie’s friends from “Woody’s Roundup”, such as a deer, a bunny, a snake, a buzzard, an armadillo, and more. The updated carousel will debut officially in 2019.
But that’s not all! Of course, there will be lots of great new dining options when the land is officially christened as Pixar Pier. And one thing I noticed in the concept art was finally announced. I had mentioned that I saw what looked like an Abominable Snowman booth and how I wished they would sell snow cones. Well, the snow cone part doesn’t appear to have come true, but you will still be able to enjoy a frosty treat in the form of what appears to be ice cream at the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats booth.
Moving forward is going to be the Poultry Palace, in which the building is, I kid you not, shaped like a kid’s meal box. This location is inspired by Pixar’s short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry,” oh and it even comes with a Fun Meal Zurg!
There will also be a kiosk themed after Spanish mode Buzz Lightyear, called Senor Buzz’s Churros, which will feature, what else, churros. (Please someone take a picture like the kid in the concept art where he’s got the churro in between his teeth like a rose. Ole!)
Finally, there will be a booth themed after the film, Inside Out. Angry Dogs will be serving up hot items, namely hot dogs.
You won’t have to wait long to try these new kiosks! The four dining locations will be opening with Pixar Pier’s opening date of June 23.
