Disneyland Resort will soon be getting lots of Pixar love.

First things first, at Disney California Adventure, Paradise Pier will become Pixar Pier as more of the Pixar stories join Toy Story Midway Mania in 2018.

This retheming will feature a brand-new look for the area. Guests will discover new neighborhoods filled with characters from The Incredibles, Inside Out and Toy Story.

This permanent addition to the park will open during a new limited-time celebration taking place throughout the Disneyland Resort in 2018 called Pixar Fest! During Pixar Fest, Guests will experience the magical worlds of Pixar in brand new ways.

Disneyland Park will also get a dose of Pixar with a brand-new fireworks spectacular and the return of the Pixar Play Parade, which had run at Disney California Adventure.

The Paint the Night parade will be returning, this time, to Disney California Adventure. Look for updates like an all new float when Paint the Night opens. No date has been given for Paint the Night at DCA.

Who else is excited about all the Pixar love Disneyland Resort will be receiving?

  • One of the things I likes about Paradise Pier was the vintage era feel back to yesteryear. Disney has always been superb at creating an immersive environment that expands on the tiniest of details to really take you to the scene they’re trying to re-create for now.

With the re-theming to The Incredibles, Inside Out and Toy Story…I’m concerned it’s just going to become a space dedicated to those movies vs. keeping the unique theme that’s been for the whole area. I get that CA Adventures is trying to be the West Coast version of DHS, but I also liked that it’s been its own identity, too. People have the choice to travel to CA or FL for their Disney experience…let the CA people enjoy that park for what it is. Just like traditional FL tourists need to go to CA to experience those two parks [which are awesome, I might add, and a very different experience from WDW]. DL and DCA are smaller parks with highlights of WDW…I hate to put it that way, but they are. Don’t ruin the uniqueness that they have!
