Opening Date for Pixar Place Hotel Plus A Sneak Peek

The Pixar Place Hotel gets its grand debut on January 30, 2024, and Disney has given us a few sneak peeks into the rooms, restaurant menus, and more.

From Paradise Pier to Pixar Place

As a reminder, Pixar Place is the in-place metamorphosis of the Paradise Pier Hotel, and we’ve been watching this transformation for the last several months. The new “Finding Nemo”-themed splash pad and pool area recently opened. The play court and pool bar that are part of this recreation area will open later this fall.

In the lobby, the gift shop has been reimagined as STOR-E, and when the lobby is complete, guests will be greeted by Luxo drawing the eyes up to a mobile of Pixar characters framed in the skylight above. Other areas of the lobby will feature sketches and finished designs from a variety of Pixar projects, highlighting the creative process.

Reimagined Guest Rooms

The reimagined guest rooms feature art from “The Incredibles,” “Toy Story 3” and more (I think I see Merida in that concept art below), including some that was created by Pixar artists especially for the hotel. In addition to the obvious, nods to Pixar will be found in details throughout. Disney describes the decor as “comfortable and contemporary”.

Great Maple and Great Snacks

In November, before the official opening date, the hotel’s main restaurant will return as Great Maple. “Upscale comfort food” will be on offer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We don’t have a full menu yet, but Disney has touted Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs, Charred Cauliflower Hummus, Maple Pecan-Crusted Salmon, Market Fish, Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, and a variety of inspired salads. These menu offerings are far enough along that we have pictures.

In addition to the restaurant itself, Great Maple’s kitchen will provide the food service for two other onsite locations. The Sketch Pad Café will be the lobby’s grab-n-go, with pastries, coffee, and tea to get you started on your way to the parks. And if you’re enjoying some rest time by the pool you’ll also be able to enjoy the menu from Small Bytes, the rooftop pool bar. With salads, wraps, assorted cheese plates, and more, there’s bound to be something you’d like to snack on along with a signature beverage.

Although it took three visits for the Disney bug to "take", she now really wishes she lived a lot closer to the Parks.
